BCV unit assignment timing and other ??

When are units assigned to the reservations? Are they assigned at the time of booking, several days ahead of arrival, or upon checkin? I ask because we are going to be spending our first nite on property at the Pop Century. When we check out the next morning, we are going to the MK and I was wondering if I should go by the BCV and check in on the way or wait until mid day after we leave the MK. I have put several preferences on my reservation such as no smoking unit, non-handicapped, dedicated unit instead of lockoff, and second floor, but I am only really concerned about the first two. Should I fax in the requests ahead of arrival? If so, how soon prior to arrival? Finally, we are leaving to go to the Swan for our last two days. Does BCV do luggage transfer to the Swan? If not, what is the best way to move there?

I just got a message on my phone service from the EX. Offices at WDW- the girl told me that the resorts recieve the info for your ressie 10 days before you actually arrive. I don;t know if they assign the rooms right then, but they get the assignments then.

I would get there as early as possible in the morning. Depending on the occupancy levels, they may not be pre-assigning rooms by request, so it's first come first served.

don't fax BCV. i don't think that will help.

the most important thing to do is reconfirm with MS that your requests are listed in order of importance.

so make sure that Non-smoking, and Non-handicapped are listed first!

actually, i also have a suggestion: instead of saying "non-handicapped" you should request to have a bathtub. sometimes the CM scans the requests and they'll see the word "handicap" and automatically assume you WANT a HC room.

IMO, it's too difficult to predict when the best time to check-in is. if you go too early, that can be bad too. so, it's your call. just pick a time and go. just don't wait until very late, like 10pm.
