BCV Studio Woods View & SAB?

We will be staying at the BCV for a few nights in August and would prefer a quiet room. I have read somewhere on here to request a Woods view room to avoid being near an access road. Is this correct? I am probably going to request a high floor, as I would assume the view would be a little bit better from up high?

What do you see in a woods view room? Can you see Epcot at all or any of the fireworks?

How convenient is a woods view room to Stormalong Bay or the Marketplace? We plan on spending a lot of time relaxing around the pool and the resort as this will be our first time staying there.

In regards to Stormalong Bay, I have read where people bring their own tubes instead of renting. We may do this since we are planning on spending a great deal of time there. Can anyone tell me the specifics of what kind of tubes or the size of tubes you are allowed to bring in?

Does anyone know where you can buy the tubes that are allowed and roughly how much they cost so we could judge whether it would even be worth it to buy and bring them with us?

Does anyone know anything about the movies that are being shown here on the beach? My kids would love this and it would be a great way to settle down after a long day in the hot sun.

Any other tips would be appreciated for us to get the most out of our stay here.

the woods view you would see the access as well as the main road to BCV

you might ask for as near BC as possible.

most of the rooms at BCV are quiet - of course your neighbors could be :dance3:  :woohoo: :rockband: party: :jumping1:

no way to determine that.

you can bring your own tubes - but I don't remember the information.

BCV is on the other side of BC - so it is not that convenient to SALB.

it is pretty convenient to marketplace.

The woods views at BCV are my favorite views. How convenient you are to SAB and the Marketplace really depends on how convenient to the elevators you are. As you get off the elevators, the rooms to your immediate left (-22, for example) are very convenient. On the other hand, the rooms down the "spur" way off to your right (-39, for example) are a pretty good hike. But they're also pretty quiet. And you don't get any road noise at all. From my studio #422, I had an excellent view of Illuminations. From #549 and #339, I really had to look off to the left, and even at that I couldn't see much. However, from all the rooms, I could see Epcot WS, and sometimes I could even hear the WS music.

Thanks so much SimbasMom for the pics. That gives me a good perspective. I know my husband likes to enjoy a more natural setting and is not much of a people watcher, so this should please him if we were able to get it. For me, I don't really care. I'm just thrilled that we will be at the BCV for our first DVC trip, even if it is only for a few days. My kids are going to go crazy when they see where we are staying. We watched the Great Hotels show about the Y&B Club right after we became members and they couldn't believe their eyes when they saw SAB.

So I will put my request in and see what we get. it's all good.

We had the quiet pool view which actually was not so quiet, but a lovely view nonetheless. :)

That's one reason I love the woods view-nature. Every morning when I was there in January, there was a hawk (a Cooper's Hawk, I think) sitting on a tree outside to greet me. But I'm afraid I couldn't get a picture.

In March we had a studio, room 127, I believe, and it faced the wooded area. It was so peaceful. It was also close to the entrance from BC and close to the walkway to Epcot. It was also a short walk to the Marketplace. That room was great I could sit on the patio and the kids could run around in the grassy area in front of our room. They enjoyed catching lizzards. One afternoon, I sat out there listening to the music from British Invasion. You could also see the higher fireworks from Illuminations:thumbsup2 . Also it was very close to the quiet pool, which we enjoyed several evenings. When we stay here again I will ask to be placed in the same area again. :)

Thanks mmccan,

It sounds like the X20's are a nice, convenient area of the BCV. I will call later today with my request and hope for the best.
