27 more days and we will be checking into BCV for the first time (VWL is our home resort)

I am not really all that picky about the view. I can take an Epcot view.. a villas pool view.. a "marsh/wood" view" my biggest thing is I don't want something comparable to that lovely dumpster view we got at VWL last year.

We dealt with what we got last year without complaint. We aren't any more special than anyone else and someone has to get it right? ;)

It's just that a view like that two years in a row would not be fun.

So.. any suggestions on what areas to "look out" for?

We need to have a non-smoking room due to allergies. We have requested 3 floor or higher.

Thanks for your help.

There doesn't seem to be any view at BCV comparable to the dumpster view at VWL, one that virtually everyone agrees is really bad. There seem to be preferences, that's all. I like the marsh/woods view. The Epcot view comes with too much noise from the road for me. Last year, I got a room that someone had previously posted about the gorgeous view. I was so excited when I got assigned that room. However, the noise from the road, with cars whizzing past, was just too distracting. For my next trip, I requested "non-Epcot view", hoping to avoid the road. MS was really surprised-so many people want that Epcot view! So I don't think there's one view that everyone tries to avoid.

Just wanted to concur with Simba's Mom. There are no universally hated views and we definitely don't have a dumpster view at BCV.

I am sure you will find the roses with whichever view you get.

FYI, if you do get a first or second floor view, don't dispair there either! I met with a great DISer last year who had the 2nd floor view and he and his wife loved it! And I have had a ground floor room with a patio. I have to say it was great as we had a woods and gardens view. Plus just walking down the hall and not having to wait for the elevator or take the stairs was such a plus!

What about those rooms on the right hand side as you walk into the BCV whose patio looks out on to the lattice separating the room from the sidewalk? I've never had one of those rooms but every time I walk by, I'm thankful not to have one. They really lack privacy and any sense of space due to the small fenced in patio. You are right that they aren't the dumpster view but they have got to be the poorest view at the BCV.

I think the best rooms at the BCV are the pool view. I have had this type and one on the EPCOT side and really preferred the pool view room.

Outside noise doesn't usually bother me at night, but we had a "quiet pool" view at BCV and some kids got real rowdy there after midnight. It ticked me off but I fell back asleep before I got mad enough to think about calling the front desk.

I agree HBC, those would not be optimal - also be careful of X52 rooms - if you look to your right you get a full view of the BCV service area

I am someone else that does not like the Epcot view villas. The limited amount of time per day spent watching Illuminations fireworks is not worth having a villa that is extremely close to a very busy road with tons of traffic and noise.
I will gladly take any other BCV villa over an Epcot view villa.

What view don't I want .......................

I don't know about you but I don't want the view that says:

Thank you for visiting, come back again soon !!!!!

Other than that ^^^^^ I'll take anything I can get.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. Keep in mind everyone's ideal is not the same. Also, I think the Soaring construction may be a temporary view, maybe someone who has been more recent can verify.

This will give you an idea of “sectional views”. It is extremely difficult to ask for a specific room (as well as trying on the CM’s). With the new room ready policy, guests have reported getting several choices at check-in and this may than help

I have also created a sheet that just has some highlights of rooms that may not work for everyones needs. You might find that helpful instead:

The files arein adobe acrobat and which can be downloaded from this site for free:

Thanks so much everyone. I appreciate your help. :)

I just came back from a week at BCV and we had a 5th floor 2 bdrm, room 554. It had an extra balcony and a pool view. I would recommend the pool view on a high floor. I wouldn't recommend the Epcot view unless you want to hear traffic.

I ate breakfast overlooking the pool every morning. There was a family of ducks (8 ducklings) that kept us laughing. The use of Stormalong bay was great.

Next time we return we are going back to the BCV simply for location and the pool for our kids.

I just got back from BCV "our home resort" two weeks ago, it was our first trip home. and we had a great room. It was a one bedroom with a pool view. as a matter of fact, every time I look at our litho that we got from DVC I can look at the room because it's right in the middle of the litho on the top floor. If you could ask for a room I would ask for 528, which is what we had.:teeth: :wave2:

I would not want the first floor pool view. We have had this before and it can get very loud at night and we had some visitors take our patio chairs to the pool.

Also as stated there is a service area that has trucks coming and going and that lovely "beep beep" backing up noise.
