Is there a certain request I should make to get a good studio room at BCV? (Or avoid a bad view or anything?)

Thanks! :goodvibes

I would recommend pool view close to elevators, that would put you closest to the center of the building. I also always request an upper floor, never stayed on the first floor and never will if I can help it.
A few rooms numbers would be 260, 312, 360, 412, 460, & 560, if you don't mind handicap accessible 228, 328, 428, 528 are also good. If you need a large balcony 228 has the largest of any unit in the resort.

I requested for my May trip a large balcony on a higher floor. View does not necessarily matter to me, but I would like a larger balcony.

would pool view also give you a view of the epcot fireworks?

No, pool views do not have views of Epcot fireworks, for that you would request a woods view and the higher up the better. Good studios would be 222, 227, 322, 327, 422, 427 & 527. Handicapped studios 225, 325, 425 & 525
would also be good.
Believe it or not I have seen the Wishes fireworks at the Magic Kingdom from the pool side, upper floors albeit from a long way away, several miles I would guess.

I've stayed in #422 twice and loved it. Great view of the fireworks. Be aware, though, that the bottom of the balcony wall is solid and that the balcony is very small.
