BCV studio vs. BC Resort studio?

I am booked in a BC Resort studio, with a AAA 10% discount (296 per night) in October. I just checked the Disney site for a BCV studio, and it's the same price (comparing before discount). Wouldn't I want the BCV room instead-would it be bigger, and preferable because it includes the microwave and refridge?

Well, first you should know about the bedding difference and then make your decision. At BC, your bedding will be either aking bed (if requested), or two queen beds. At BCV a studio has a queen bed and a double size sleeper sofa. Yes, you do get a small fridge and a microwave, but I felt that the studios feel slightly smaller than a regular room at BC or YC. Personally, if I was paying, since we're a family of 4, I'd rather stay at the BC than BCV in a studio.

if they called it a studio - then you are at BCV - BC does not have a studio - only rooms or suites.

I think the BCV seems bigger because of the sofa bed - unless you are using it - it can be folded up - so you have more space.

Technically, I think the BCV studio is smaller in total square footage than a BC standard room. Something like 356 sq. ft. to almost 400 sq. ft. Somewhere in there. But I think spicey cat is right.. the studio "feels" bigger. Also, if you love balconies the BV is the way to go. At the BC, some rooms have little balconies that you can only stand on -- no table and chairs so you have to specially request the full balcony if you want it. At the BCV, all rooms have full balconies or patios (or at least I've never seen a room that didn't).

But we like the BCV studio for one reason over the standard room: the mini kitchen. We like to eat breakfast and quick dinners in the room, and eat out our big meal out at lunch. The mini kitchen makes this possible, without the aggravation of having to tote a cooler and hope that it's cold enough, keep it filled with ice, etc., etc. And with the microwave and toaster, we have more food options available to us. The studios (as you noticed) are priced the same as the standard rooms, and the money we save on food costs by using the studio means that we feel like we come out ahead. But it's a personal preference.

We just got back from BCV and stayed in the studio. My brother and his family stayed in the BC resort. After seeing both of them I'd have to say you'd be happier in the BC. The room seems much larger even with the two beds. The storage in the BCV is very minamal, the BC had much more. The bathroom was larger and there was a double sink in the BC. The closet is also larger at the BC.
