There is only one booking category for BCV. So no standard, no preferred views. You can request pool view, woods view, garden view.

The one night we stayed there we looked at the road...on the ground floor. I still say this was the worst view we have had at any DVC. However we Loved the pool and other areas at the resort so we will most likely be back.
The lack of view is definitely a consideration though. All those points to look at a road?

OK, stupid question. When renting a Studio do we get a dedicated or lock-off or a possibility of either? Also, who do we email a request to?

You get the possibility of either. Did you make the reservation with Member Services, did a member make the reservation for you or did you book directly through Disney Reservation Center? If you made the reservation yourself through MS, you contact MS. If you "rented points", the member makes the request. If you booked directly through Disney for cash, you call DRC and add it to your reservation.

Some locations have no dedicated studios.

Thank you for the information. I am a member & made the reservation myself through Member Services. I have a waitlist to add one more night, so I will wait until we get closer to make my request.

What is your feeling as to how far out to make my request?

I ask for top floor...works well for us! Had a beautiful studio 5th floor all the way down...right by the end elevator...a bit noisy, as it faces the road, but could lay in bed and see the high fireworks!!!!

Last August we were in room 560, a studio. It has a HUGE balcony and we LOVED it. It overlooks the quiet pool. We were able to sit on the balcony during the rain storms that often occur late afternoon during the summer. We ALWAYS request 1st floor pool view but this was unavailable when we checked in. 560 was AWESOME. Too bad none of the 2 BR rooms have balconies like this since this is the accomodation we usually have.
