Thought I would add to the BCV report rash that has been breaking out lately

Fri May 14, we arrived at MCO at 11:30pm from Toronto - I did not have enough vacation days to come earlier in the day so did a full work day then we all flew down - myself, DW, DS#1 (4 3/4) and DS#2 (11mos old)

By the time, we obtained luggage, rental van from Dollar and headed out of MCO it was about 12:30am on Saturday. The rental van from Dollar was awesome - it was a Town and Country Touring - large V6 engine, leather interior, power lift gate etc. - it was in fabulous shape. The Dollar check in line was short and moved fast - no strong arming on insurance or fees either.

We headed into BCV and arrived just before 1am - needless to say our room was ready :teeth: - we received a welcome home from the guardhouse and the front desk was very efficient and fast.

We received room #375 - a 2BR lockoff - the one knock I have against the front desk at BC is that they never seem to have a clue where the room is located especially in relation to the single elevator by Dunes Cove Pool entrance - so I have to guess whether to park and then empty the van or go from the lobby - annoying but not material gripe.

We got into the room and it was in very good shape - a little marker damage to the couch but that was very minor - the kitchen was stocked, everything was in working order, neat and clean. It was overlooking right down the middle of the canal on the Epcot side where Epcot Resorts Blvd cross over the canal on a bridge.

The kids were wired up and did not get to sleep until almost 2:00am

Saturday morning, of course they woke up by 7:00am as if nothing had been strange with their bedtime and sleep cycles the night before

We had breakfast in the room from things we picked up at Atlantic Beach Wear once it opened up - later that morning I took DS#1 to Epcot whilst DW and DS#2 had a nap. The ticket line at Epcot was too funny (we had to renew our AP's) - everyone in front of us had a story or an argument or an exchange situation - getting our renewal entailed about a 15 minute wait but it was amusing to listen to all the stories while waiting

DS loved the dog display on the way to Imagination area and spent about 15 minutes in there laughing and pointing things out. We went on Figment, Living with the Land, The Living Seas (saw the movie this time!) - DS loved the fish at Living Seas and was very interested in checking them all out - also went on his favourite - Spaceship Earth.

We checked out El Rio de Tiempo and then went back to BCV to get the family together and spent the afternoon at SAB which was awesome as always - what a great pool complex

We had dinner as a combo between some Hurricane Hannah's takeout and some stuff made in our kitchen.

Saturday night, once the kids were in bed went over to the Publix on Vineland over by Intl Drive South (took Buena Vista to 536 to 535 North to Vineland) - this is a nice and new grocery store that has everything we would need.

Sunday we went to AK (family favourite park) - DS#2 fell asleep on KS yet again - he always falls asleep during the bumpy parts - it is so cute. DS#1 had his new glasses on (he has a -4 and -3 perscription) and was just staring at the animals in awe as this was the first time he was able to see them easily and in full focus - he was 100% quiet through the whole ride.

Also, in what became a pattern of breakthroughs, DS#1 actually volunteered to go on Kali River Rapids which he refused to on our most recent trips in Jan and Feb - we did not think of it much at the time but in retrospect it set a pattern for the rest of the trip

We went back to BCV for an afternoon visit to SAB and some friends dropped by and we went to Spoodles for dinner. Spoodles was mixed for us - we were quite pleased by the appetizers and tapas and disappointed with the main courses - the Sangria was really nice - in the future, we will go there for sharing appetizers and a Sangria but not for a full meal.

After that we went on the Boardwalk - Phil the shell game guy was there so was the guy who did all the balancing tricks - it was a fun time - the kids had face painting done and DS#1 had a snake painted on his arm which was cool (would not have this done last trip).

To cap the early evening, we all went to Beaches & Cream for a dessert adventure (no kitchen sink) and were stuffed.

After that our friends went back to Longwood (north of Orlando), DW and the kids went to sleep and I went to Epcot to take advantage of the extra evening hours

The evening EMH at Epcot was a lot of fun - it was quite crowded waiting for the non eligible guests to filter out:

At 0920pm there was actually a 5 minute wait for El Rio de Tiempo - first wait I have ever seen for this attraction - I rode that - always a nice attraction

Maelstrom had a 20 minute wait so I skipped that

Went over and rode Figment, Living with the Land - the greenhouses were all lit up and it was a neat combo with darkness outside and lit up inside quite brightly.

Went on Spaceship Earth and wondered around - was going to go on Test Track but even at 10:45 it had quite the wait time - 35 minutes in the singles line so I skipped that - was too tired to go on Universe of Energy or Mission Space so I wondered back over to BCV as the Friday night flight down and lack of sleep caught up.

This was the first time we had used DVC points for weekend stay and it was a lot of points but between the late arrival, need for separate sleeping quarters, SAB and quick access to Epcot it was all worth it

A great start to the trip all in all and BCV rated well on this segment of the trip

thanks

Your ride story just reminded me of my oldest son's first rollercaster ride.
Having been very excited to ride he was very quiet during the ride and when we stopped I noticed he had fainted.
Needless to say he became a fanatic at 5yo

Thanks for the report! Your kids sound like my kids...it doesn't matter what time they go to bed, it's up at the crack of 6:30 every day. :teeth: Which is nice for those EMH days we want to hit!

Jaysue, we were there the same weekend! (stayed at BWV) We arrived on thursday and left monday. We were there for the extra hours at Epcot sunday night, but the lines were so long (out the door for Maelstrom) that we just went back to the boardwalk and hung out there.

We probably walked right by eachother!;)

Great report, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the very complete trip report! Sounds like a great time.
