We were at BCV the week of 3/30 (6 nights), and I have to say, we had a great stay! It is not our home resort, we own at both BWV and SSR and have stayed at both properties, but this was our first time at BCV. We felt really lucky when we made our ressie that there was availability since it was spring break time.

First, we stayed in a studio that looked out on to the road, which was fine. We didn't make any room requests b/c not having stayed there before we really didn't know what to request. It was fine - quiet except for when Illuminations was going on. We could also hear The British Invasion from our balcony in the afternoon. And our room was ready when we checked in after being dropped off by ME at about noon. We used the villas check-in area to check in - very nice and efficient.

We had glasses and mugs in our room. It did say clearly on the list of things you're supposed have in the room that these are not washed up to the restaurant standards (not the correct terminology, but you know what I mean). I just made sure to wash them before I used them with the dish soap, sponge, and dish towel provided. The only complaint about our kitchenette was that the previous occupant had not cleaned up well after having coffee and it really smelled like stale coffee when we first went into the room. I did end up washing the coffee pot, maker, and counter thoroughly and we had no problems after that.

There were a couple of nicks on the coffee table and one of the drawers didn't work well, but I figured that's to be expected with the amount of use these rooms have. Otherwise the room was very nice. A couple of things got left behind in corners from previous occupants, but that was OK (ex - water bottle behind the sofa).

We loved the Dunes Cove pool - it was really nice and relaxing. I really expected to like Stormalong Bay better than I did after all of the hype about it, but I kind of missed the smaller size and the slides at Luna Park and High Rock Spring pools.

We really enjoyed being that close to Epcot, but after staying at BWV we really had to decide whether to walk or take the boat to Studios since it was a little longer distance. The bus transportation to the other parks was fine too - we had one long wait coming back from TL, but we get that at least once every trip no matter where we stay.

We also got good use of the Marketplace being so easily accessible, especially when we got back from the parks at night it was great to get a quick snack there.

DH really wants to stay there again, and I'd like to as well. So we'll definitely be back as availability lets us! :goodvibes

That's great that you had a great time at BCV. BCV is one of our home resorts and we have always loved it.

However I am surprised about the lack of housekeeping done to prepare your room. I'm glad that didn't ruin your vacation.

Thanks for the review....I also really liked BCV and did not LOVE stormalong bay.

I was quite honestly surprised that our room was ready when we checked in, so I wasn't as surprised to find a couple of things amiss in the room. Nothing major that I couldn't clean up myself, and, as I reminded DH, this is our timeshare and thus our responsibility to keep it clean. Honestly, the water bottle was hidden from view, and we didn't even see it until we were trying to find the outlet behind the sofa mid-week. Not sure if the coffee pot should have been cleaned by housekeeping, but it was an easy fix. Plus we checked in on the Sunday after Easter so I'm sure there was a lot of turnover that day.

Oh, and I forgot to put in my original post - I got my picture taken with Art the Greeter! He was so nice! :)

Glad you enjoyed the BCV. We love them.

How late was SAB open if you noticed?

I did not notice the specific times, only that there were opening and closing times as opposed to the 24 hours that Dunes Cove pool was open. Sorry!

We did have to get wristbands both afternoons we were down there though.

No need to apologize. I never notice the exact hours either. I should have phrased my question differently...did SAB seem to be open after dark?

Did you try any of the other Y&BC restaurants? If so, what did you think?

So glad that you had a good time at the BCV. Also glad that you got to see Art the Greeter. It's nice to see him back after his illness. Now you can look forward to your trip "home" to the BWV in August. :goodvibes

I believe SAB is open until 10:00 p.m. if I remember correctly (we were there last week).

It was our first stay at BCV and we absolutely loved it:cool1:

We usually stay at BCV for the F&G show in May and I think SAB usually closes at 8PM then. I'll find out in just a few weeks! I'm using ME too and it would be nice to have a room ready!

mathgeek I'm glad you enjoyed your first BCV stay! I'm very glad the mugs and glasses were returned to us! When people were discussing the "studio situation" and I wondered how we were supposed to clean the coffee pot, a few here said not to use soap...well, that's not something I've heard but apparently someone before you felt that way!

The only night we walked past SAB after dark it had been raining, so I couldn't tell you if it was open or not.

We ate at Yachtsman, and we've eaten there before but had great service and another great meal there. It's one of our favorites!

I was glad to see the glassware as well! And I didn't run soap through the coffee maker, just cleaned off the exterior with the dish soap. But I gave the coffee pot a good soaking - I do this at home and never gave it a second thought!
