Hello folks! I'm renting points for a few nights at the BCVs and I'm trying to get some assistance. Any input you could provide would be amazing!

We'll be in a studio, which is not equipped with a washer/dryer. I read that there is a free to use, public washer and dryer on the 4th floor. Is this still correct? if it is, is detergent also complimentary or is there a vending machine to purchase some?

We'll be taking the ME bus, do i check-in at the standard BC building or do i walk over to the BCV to check-in?

How bad is the bus to and from DTD? i've heard bad things, but i'm trying to convince myself it cant be that bad...

thank you for your time! ...i've only been value so i dont know what to expect! :)

There's one check-in desk for both BC and BCV; it's located in the BC lobby.

The DTD buses don't run as frequently as the theme park buses, so guests sometimes find that frustrating. It's not unique to any one resort, though.

It is on the fourth floor. You'll need your room key to get into the room. Studios don't get any free laundry detergent, but you can buy some out of vending machines in the laundry room or in the store.

They don't do check in at BCV, only at the BC.

Think that you don't have to drive to DTD and don't have to try to find a parking place. Makes it worthwhile to have the bus there to do it for you. ;)

Thank you for your help :)

i'm not a bus snob and i certainly dont fret when they come after 20 minutes of waiting. i was reading some sob stories, and WOW people sure do love to complain!

thx again!

It depends on when you're going (i.e., busy or low season, peak time during the day, etc.). The bus to DTD is not that bad. The bus from DTD is a different story. When I last took the bus from DTD to BW, it was a shared bus with the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht, and Beach Club. It can get crowded fast! So if you're going try to get back to the BW at a busy time, be prepared to wait for the next bus and be prepared to stand. As long as you're okay with that, then the bus is okay.

OP I hope you don't mind me piggy backing on this post... A few more BCV questions.

With a Dedicated two bedroom is there more than one internet connection? We are DVC members so Internet is still free right? Any wireless in the Villas yet? All of us have Wifi phones and we would all love to be able to use them!

Thanks for any info!

There is wireless now. You can find various posts about it on DVC/Resorts board.

Regarding Laundry detergent... you can buy laundry sheets (Purex was the first to make them, but there are other brands now). Those work really well and you can pack a few in a ziploc to save packing space.

As for the DTD bus (Thanks to Spiceycat - I now realize that this long wait was courtesy of the Boardwalk, which is the last stop before DTD)... we waited 45 minutes for two full buses (we were at BW, not sure which resort it stops at first). Finally, a bus driver in training came by and she and her preceptor had mercy on us and the hoards of people waiting for the next full bus. BTW, it was Friday night and I have no idea why I thought it would be a good idea to go to DTD on a Friday night. :sad2:

We stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV last March & there was one wired connection in the living room. We brought our own wireless router & everyone's devices had internet throughout our villa.

Regarding the laundry room- there are some pictures of the BCV laundry room in the FAQ thread (Page 1, Ameneties post)

Regarding the DTD Disney bus- ITA with figment_jii
The bus to DTD is not bad, it is the ride back that it miserable.

What my family likes to do when we are coming back from DTD is to take one of the boats to SSR or OKW or POR and then catch a bus to EPCOT. It probably is not quicker than the bus ride but it is much more pleasant. Plus we enjoy a couple of attractions in EPCOT as we make our way back to the Beach Club.

This method is also detailed in the FAQ post (Page 1, Transportation).

You can click on the link in my signature to get to the FAQ thread for BC/YC/BCV.

thanks dee - i had fun reading through that last night. lots of great info and photos!

our visit is only 4 days, 3 nights long. our first day will be our only stint at dtd, which will be a wednesday (10/10/12 to be precise), and we'll just be going for dinner, drinks and shopping. then its two full - non-stop days in the parks, only to wake up saturday morning bright and early to drive to fort lauderdale for part 2 of our honeymoon. (picking up the rental friday between park visits, and hitting the road saturday morning at 6am.)

i'm looking very forward to relaxing at SAB, fingers crossed we get good weather!

the dd buses has several stops to make - first after picking up at market place it goes to Westside - then if opened typhoon lagoon (but only if it is opened and I think for 2 hours after) - before even getting to Epcot resorts and yes it can and sometimes does stop at S/D then yc then bc finally bw

but I agree on parking - it took us about 30 minutes to find a parking place at DD last time - this is with the help from disney telling which parking lots were full.

if you are only going to DD then would go with SSR you can walk over or OKW you can ride the boat or bus

Thank you! Your post reminds me that my long DTD bus wait was at the Boardwalk, not the Beach Club!:thumbsup2

We took the bus to DTD last Aug. and really had no problems. We did make the stop at the West side on the way back. When the bus made the first stop at S/D we just got off there and walked back to the BC. We find that the quickest thing to do.

The other reason we avoid the DTD buses back to the resorts is that they are crowded and some of the other riders can be a bit inebrieted, so we just avoid the return bus.

great point, thanks for the advise. this will make a post-dtd stop on the bw a definite must!

Sorry to stray a little here but when we check in, can they keep things cold for us. We will be stopping for groceries before check in.

They put my Diet Mnt Dew in the fridge when I stored with bell services in January. I did'nt even request!

all disney resorts have refrigerators and freezers for your food. but since BCV is a DVC resort - you won't have any problems. Think all the DVC resorts are required to have refrigerators and freezers.
