BCV questions--leaving Sunday!

We're heading down Sunday for 9 days in a 2br at the BCV. I called and checked and we are confirmed in a dedicated room with 2 queens. We've never stayed at BCV before (even though it's our home resort) but we've stayed at WLV, OKW, and BWV in a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom lockout.

OK, here are my questions:
1. Where is the door to the second room? Is it in the living room like in a lock out?

2. If there is no mini-kitchen in the second bedroom, what's there?

3. What kind of coffee filter does the coffee pot take?

4. Do the BCV rooms have a DVD or VCR? If DVD, can it play CD's?

5. Does disney provide enough dishwasher detergent? cleaning supplies for bath and counters? (we usually drive and I bring this stuff, but we're flying this time)

6. Is there a zero entry part of SAB open right now? (I'm thinking of my 2 year old)

I will DEFINITELY do some snooping while I'm there and ask the CMs about the number of 2 queen rooms, rumors about the contemporary, whether the bus route changes are permanent, etc. I'll also take note on how the EMH in the am and pm are affecting crowd patterns (we go this week every year so I should be able to judge).

Is there anything else I should ask about???

Jenny

Excellent you have on the relatively few dedicated 2BR at BCV

1) The door to the 2nd bedroom is in the vestibule (entry area)

2) More closet space

3) No idea - we do not drink coffee (hopefully someone else can answer that one or you can call BCV directly)

4) DVD - not sure if it is multi-capable with other media

5) Yes - you can always ask for more either from housekeeping on the phone or from housekeeping staff going about their rounds

6) Not sure

Have a great time!

3. What kind of coffee filter does the coffee pot take?......
You'll need the basket type (10 -12 cup size) similar to the Mr. Coffee filters.

Have fun!

6. From reading other posts.... The zero entry, sand bar area is open as well as the lazy river section of the pool. I also thought someone mentioned the shipwreck pool area was open.

Thanks for scoping out some of those rumors as well!

I hope you have a great time! We will be there soon!

Hi,

I just wanted to say have a good time!!! Be sure to report back!

Jenny, Maybe you could ask what the store/food bar is going to be like when it reopens the end of March. Can we refill mugs there? Will it be similar to Roaring Forks? Etc.

Thanks and have a great trip!

Donna

I didn't think to ask about the store--good idea. And thank you for your good wishes--we're really looking forward to the trip. My hubby is working in California this winter (we're in PA) so the kids and I can't wait to spend the week with him.

Just did Mid January in dedicated 2BR

as mentioned door to second bedroom is in entry hall

second dedicated BR has a double sink along with more closet space

coffee uses basket type- you get a 2 day supply so take a zip lock bag if you like coffee- be careful opening the BCV coffee or you may rip the filter pack inside (I did).

you get two packets of dishwasher detergent- we took some tablets.

we had 1 small single use box of tide for clothes washer- my daughter packed a tupper ware container with some detergent.

the only dvd player is in the livingroom- didn't try music cds

Have a great trip! Jean and Bob

6. The "zero entry" (shallow kids pool) part of SAB is the part farthest from Beach Club and should definitely be open.

5. There is generally enough dishwasher detergent; if not I'm sure you can get more from housekeeping with reasonable notice.

4. As far as I know all DVD players are capable of playing CDs although they are seldom used that way.

7. If you plan to buy ice cream to keep in the freezer, bring (or buy) an ice cream scoop.

Allison, I just want to say I always look forward to your pics of Johnny Depp in your signature!!!

Just wanted to say have a great vacation and thanks for snooping, I am also interested in the question on the store as well if the rumors of more rooms with 2 queen size actual beds beyond the original 25 is true. Thanks again!

25 is the accurate count of 2 bedrooms with 2 queens.

Have a great vacation. I'll be looking for your report.

Terry, I hadn't read that rumor. Is the rumor that more 2Q will be added or that it has already happened?

Thank you for the link, Terry. If this is true, I wonder if the 2BR accessible rooms will have 2Qs also. I thought I read way back in the early days that 2 Qs could not fit in those rooms because of their configuration.

I have my first dedicated 2br 2queen reserved for our next trip. Anyone know if any of these are HA or do the two not mix. Hoping i don't have to worry about getting one after our last stay in a studio.

Have you considered being picked up at the airport by Tiffany Town Car service. They will allow you a free 20 minute grocery stop so that you don't have to cart everything with you or pay DW prices. Just a thought. Have a great time. We just love BCV!
