BCV or VWL: 7 Mo Availability Early Dec

Experienced DISers, we currently have a 1 bdrm @ SSR for Dec 3-8, checking out on the 9th. Do we have a shot at switching over to either BCV or VWL at the 7 mo mark? I know since it's a lower point season these resorts may have no availability, but wanted to ask from those who've done it before. Thanks

Perhaps we are not the norm, but each time we've switched from SSR (home resort, love it) to BCV at the 7 month mark we have not had a problem or had to waitlist. We did this last year in September around the DVC Member Cruise and for New Year's.

hi: you may want to opt for vwl at that time of year. the decorations are awesome. It will definitely be a little more Christmaslike. You could probably check out previous pictures of both resorts during this season. On the plus side for bcv is location, location, location and the SAB pool if the weather is warm enough.

We bought VWL as our home resort at the 10 month mark. We had to waitlist for Dec 2-9.

Granted, we had to push our dates back a week, and we got the next week (9-16) immediately when we called (we'll be giving up that first week just as soon as we remember to call).

I think I remember seeing Beca have to waitlist for the 7th at BCV as well (I only know cuz we had to waitlist for the 7th for a much longer time).

So I'd say yes, you'll have to waitlist. They usually come through though.

What will help you is a 1BR. Studios and 2BRs are the first to go. Good Luck.

I know the 3-8 of Dec at BCV (studios) is already waitlisting. I think the 3rd is gone for 1bdrms, and I would be surprised if the 4-6th is still available. I don't know about the rest of the week, but my numbers are from a few weeks ago. We waitlisted for a studio for Dec 7th, on Feb 15th....it still has not come thru.

I don't know how much "shifting" will take place at the 7 month window, but the resort does seem to be much more full this year, than last.

first of all - do them all - BWV, BCV and VWL.

then prepare to wait list.
second - then ask say you want the day by day and automatic confirmation.

this way you stand a better chance of getting all your days.

Thank you so much for the insight. We're in the process of trying them all, so since we already stayed at BWV, albeit a studio and not a 1 bdrm, I just wanted to try BCV or VWL before heading back to BWV, if available, or SSR (home resort). Can't wait to try them all! Thanks again.

I don't know if this is presumed or not, but this was at 7 months in 2005.
