Decisions, decision! We're in the "investigation" mode and I am hoping to get some opinions about the differences between BCV and BWV. I read somewhere that one has evening kids activities,
but that one does not - anyone know? Is one better suited for children than the other, as far as activities, pools, access to restaurants, ease of getting to the parks, etc.?

Also, a more general question - is maid service provided with any of the properties, or am I truly "going home" where it's up to me!?

Thank you!

maid service depends upon how long you stay. if you stay 8 days or longer then you get a full cleaning on day 4 and a trash and towel on day 8.

otherwise it is a trash and towel on day 4.

you can always pay extra for housekeeping - you find that you generally won't need it.

BWV has a community hall - but activities for children without a parent - no - you must be there.

BC/YC, Polyn, WL/VWL, Cont all have kids club at night - you must pay for the adult supervision. If you want babysitting service you must pay for it.

depends upon your kids - both resorts are very kid friendly - BC/YC/BCV has by far the better pool - SALB - it is a mini-water park type pool. but BWV has the clown pool - just depends upon the age of your children. and if they like to swim. they also all have quiet pools. BW has 2 quiet pool. BC/YC/BCV had 3 quiet pools.

Hello!
ok, here is my opinion. We just got back yesterday from a week at BCV (first time "home") and we absolutely LOVED it! It is a beautiful resort. We were in the parks all day and night, but after the days at the waterparks we spent the nights over at the Boardwalk for dinner and some strolling around. I think that this was the perfect situation!! The Boardwalk is all but a 5 minute walk, then we could go back to the quiet, serene Beach Club. Beaches and Cream was excellent for ice cream and we spent alot of time at SAB pool. BCV is a 5 minute walk to EPCOT and about a 25 minute walk to MGM (boat service available also) and BWV is about a 10 minute walk to EPCOT and about a 15-20 minute walk to MGM (boat service also available) . We had kids with us that ranged from ages 16 down to 4 and they all LOVED the BCV!!! Both resorts do have "supervised childcare" up to 12 years old, which I understand the kids love, but BWV has a community hall (which I don't think we'd ever utilize because we are always so busy with the parks or pools) . We truly were impressed with BCV and do not regret our decision AT ALL to buy sight unseen!!! Will probably at one time stay at BWV but I am glad that we can book BCV 11 months out. Good luck in your decision, I really don't think either one is a bad one!!

The main big differences between BWV and BCV are:
BWV has standard view rooms available which means lower pts
BWV does not have any rooms that are as close to traffic or traffic noise
BWV has Community Hall
BCV guests have access to SAB
BCV dining area seats more people
BCV has more and nicer common areas to relax in
Other than that they are about as similiar as you are going to get. One might be a few steps closer to one park vs the other or to the Boardwalk restuarants vs the YC/BC restaurants, the decor is a little different, etc but they are really very minor differences. Both resorts are located in one of the best locations at WDW with parks, restaurants, shopping, nighttime entertainment and shows, etc right outside your door. Both resorts offer every possible deluxe resort amenity you could want and vacation pampering to the max. Both are among WDW's crown jewel resorts.
I have read some posts saying BCV is more quiet in the villas, I can't comment on that because my first stay in a BCV villa is in Sept, so I will have to wait till then for a comparison , but I can honestly say I have never been bothered by noise in any villa at BWV, so I will see. I am a little concerned about getting a room overlooking the road because I do spend a lot of time on my balcony, so I have requested a woods or quiet pool view.

I have a few very important words about the BCV.....THE SAND!!!

The bottom of the pools at Stormalong Bay have this FANTASTIC sand on the bottom...probably 6 inches.....it is large grained and HEAVEN to just walk around on!!!! My feet got such great massages from that sand---not to mention exfoliation!!!!!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also--there is a whole pool which has beaches of this sand and buckets--along the edges---like the ocean---the kids had a BLAST playing in this heavenly sand!!!!! BYOB (bring your own bucket )--when my son put his bucket down--inevitably another kid would just take it--and the tears would flow.....:(
This pool has all the advantages of being at a pool--but the feeling of being on the beach--minus the sharp objects and poisonous animals lurking in the murk....

In my opinion----THE SAND WINS HANDS DOWN!!!!!!:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
