I booked BCV for my mom and I for April. Us splitting a 1BR was cheaper than us getting our own rooms and due to snoring we cannot share sleeping space. I passed on VGF because the monorail doesn't do emh and so that resort was no longer worth the extra cost to us even though it is newer. At that time BCV was supposed to be refurbed before our stay so, yay, refreshed room and ability to walk to Epcot. Well now refurb has been pushed back so if we stick with BCV it is pretty much a given we will have a tired room. But since there is no start date, we could have a tired room in a construction zone which, for the cost, is unacceptable.

I have been looking at BWV. To be honest the Boardwalk was never on my try list . It is solely that its villas will be newly redone and I can walk to Epcot attracting me. The clown pool freaks me out, the bustle over there at night is not my scene and while the lobby is lovely as are the rooms, I find other parts a bit garish. Must say the new laminate flooring in the villas is a big seller too, carpet always seems to be hiding something IMO. But....

While I have never stayed at either resort, I have stayed at YC twice. I know we will be doing many CS breakfasts and would prefer Boardwalk Bakery to the very limited Marketplace. On Epcot mornings, walking to Al Trattoria then to park is easy vs. back tracking to YC for Capt Grille and then walking past where we started to get to Epcot.

Questions are:

1. How are buses at BW? I know what I face at BC, but does BWV stop at both Swan and Dolphin? Does it throw in waterpark stops before you get anywhere else?

2. How much noise filters up from shops, etc below the villas?

I would like to pull the metaphorical trigger this weekened if I am jumping ship.

Thanks!

Yes, the BW shares buses with both the Swan and Dolphin. Only the AK bus will stop at Blizzard Beach first (and on the way back from AK).

If you pick a standard view villa and ask for a high floor, you shouldn't hear anything from the Boardwalk. We've done a standard view studio and 1-bedroom at BWV and asked to be on a high floor close to DHS (we went for SWW). Both rooms were very quiet.

We've stayed at both BCV and BWV this past year and loved both. We were in a refreshed villa in BWV and it was lovely. We were in a villa that was not re-done at BCV and it was fine. They were actually doing some refurbs while we were there (in April, not sure when and why they stopped). We could see construction workers bringing new furniture, carpeting, etc. to the back of BCV. Other than the construction worker parade, we never heard any construction noise.

Honestly, I would pick the resort that offers you the location and amenities you will enjoy most. We really loved both and wouldn't hesitate staying at either again.

Hi - we love BWI and stayed in a 1 BR at BWV once.
We had a standard view room which meant we were looking at the quiet pool and were along the canal. It was very quiet. This meant you were closer to the path to DHS but to walk around to the BoardWalk you cut through the Luna Park pool area. Even when we stay at BWI we don't get a BoardWalk view as we prefer the Garden View. I can't talk about the noise level if you have that view.

The buses do make 1 stop at the Swan/Dolphin - not two. BoardWalk is the first stop returning from the parks. I found the bus situation to be not very different from that at BC. It was fine for us.

The Quiet Pool is so nice. I like Luna Park and the Keister Koaster but the quiet pool at the BWV is wonderful. Community Hall is right there and you can pop in and get a movie to borrow for the night if you'd like.

I went with the BW only because you seem really concerned with the construction, I would be too.
Now I don't do Disney transportation so I can't help you with that. There are many "quiet" areas of BWV that won't have you in the hussle and bustle of the boardwalk.
We are staying there in exactly 12 days. can't wait.

Typically we won't be around enough to notice construction, but I am completing my 4th summer in a row of construction at work so I don't really want to face it on vacation too lol. The other factor, which I forgot to mention, is concern the pull out at BCV, being worn, will not make for comfy sleeping. I keep picturing opening it to find years of crumbs vs an almost brand new one at BWV that hasn't had time to get dirty or over used.

I think Boardwalk is really awesome, but to me what makes it so unique is the boardwalk view. We didn't have issue with noise being right above the Boardwalk (or at least we didn't the one and only time we stayed there), but overall, it doesn't sound like your thing. We happened to like the clown pool (felt it really fit the theme), but again, it sounds like you've seen the hotel and it's just not for you. While we loved it, mostly because of the unique Boardwalk View rooms, I can relate to you not liking it. A lot of people LOVE WL and we just... don't. I think if you're not spending for a Boardwalk view it's not worth it, just like you think GF isn't worth it because of the monorail being down during EMH. The monorail access is part of what makes GF so unique, and I feel the Boardwalk View is what makes BWV so unique. If you're going to spend, spend for something that's worth it. With that said, I think BCV is the better choice. MAYBE, MAYBE, MAYBE you can get a renovated villa, away from the noise, however they are usually good with limiting noise during the night. SAB is just great, no other Disney hotel pool can compete with it. You still have easy access to the Boardwalks shops, dining, etc.

I feel the same way about AKL and not taking savanna views, you know, why stay there then? But I was ambivalent about GF as my stay there was shortly before its refurb and my room was really sad. That makes me nervous aboit BCV being in the same shape.

Yes, we would be in a standard view room.
Standard on points or standard on cash? They are different. Standard on points is along the main drive (about 20% of the total villas). Standard on cash is pool/garden view (about 60% of the total villas, but not BW view).

Standard on cash (2 separate incomes funding it makes it one of my cheaper stays). The description on MDE said standard was grounds or parking lot, so that was what I was basing my info on.
