I booked a short trip for May 23 - 28th, next spring. DH agreed as long as we weren't buying tickets. We are going at the end of this month and will have probably 1 major park day, and about 4 plus options that we would probably use for water parks left over on our tickets. It didn't hurt that I mentioned he could tote his clubs, and play some golf at the world.;) Anyway, I booked a studio at BCV, but they called this morning and said that BWV standard is now available, I've got to let them know by 5:00 tomorrow. I tried to get standard at first because I wanted to save the points. We only have 53 points left for next year since I borrowed heavily to take family in a 2 bed for our upcoming Dec. trip. Anyway the BCV is 65 points and the BWV standard would be 55. Of course I already borrowed the extra 12 points from "05 to make the ressie. I'm really torn what to do, I know that BCV has SAB which would be a major plus since we will have minimal park time. What would you do? What would the plusses or minuses be? What am I not thinking about.

If you would enjoy SAB, then I think that is a big factor. Do you prefer the Boardwalk nightlife or the SAB pool feature? You can always take the boat over or walk to the Boardwalk for nightlife, but you can't go to SAB unless you are staying there. Seems like BCV offers it all to you.

They are both wonderful resorts. If you will be swimming alot then BCV is great - although I really love the BWV pool also. We just returned from a BWV standard view studio last week and I loved it. I would have to say I liked it better than the BCV studio we stayed in in Sept because we could see the fireworks at BWV. Are you an owner at BWV? If not, you may not get a standard view again.

So, my vote is for BWV. ::yes::

How did you borrow from '05? I thought you could only do one year ahead?

mom2rb...I'm sure that ErinC is borrowing from the 2005 use year for this 2004 trip...perfectly legitimate.

If we were going to WDW and only expecting to spend one day in the parks out of five, we'd probably look at our home at VWL so we could take big time advantage of the bike and boat plan there.

Or stay at OKW if golfing is part of the plans...very convenient.

Between BCV and BWV, either is pretty much a wash for us. Since you're going to water parks anyway, SAB might not be that big of a deal for you. Maybe you'd like closer proximity to Boardwalk restaurants and the BW entertainers....again thinking of time out of the parks.

Good luck...you can't go wrong either way!:)

I would go for the SAB.

Since you already borrowed the points, you would have to use them in your 2004 use year. Do you have another trip planned that you can use those points? If not, I would stay with the BCV studio. Otherwise, you need to decide what is more important--saving points or having the use of SAB. Like you said, you will be spending lots of time at the resort and SAB is a fabulous pool.

For me, the choice is simple--BCV!!!! But, I'm partial, as BCV is my home resort and my favorite resort of all.

Good luck in deciding.

You make a reservation in '03 for a trip in '04, you borrow from '05.

I agree with Granny on the question at hand. If you are going to the water parks, stay at the BWV and save the points. Standard view BWV rooms are great.

Thanks for the replies thus far:

Lexxiefern: we own at VWL so I was thinking we are pretty lucky to get a chance at the standard view.

Granny: December will be our second trip home to VWL so we really wanted to try a different resort. OKW just doesn't have enough dining options for this trip, although the golf would be nice.

Donna: You are right, I would have to have my points reallocated, because now I am stuck borrowing those points from '05.

One last thing I was thinking about was the parking situation. We would probably use our car quite a bit. Isn't the self parking at BCV pretty handy?

Yes it really is. You can park fairly close to the exit of one of the wings of the BCV and walk right to your car. It's not OKW handy but it's a lot easier than the other resorts.
