We want to buy beach club but need confirmation that the studios have the day beds, and can sleep 5 before we commit, officially they say they only sleep 4 but some on other forums are saying some rooms have a day bed.
Please someone confirm.

There are no day beds in the BCV studios. The occupancy is four plus one under the age of three. Some of the BWV studios have a deacon's bench (not really a day bed) but it's not a guaranteed booking category.

The daybeds you are reading about are at the BC Resort, not the Beach Club Villas. The studios at the BCV sleep 4 plus one under the age of 3 in a pack n play

The only DVC resorts that have studios that sleep five are VGF and VWL. You may see speculation that DVC might convert other studios to sleep five in the future, but nothing has been announced.

I would strongly advise you against buying anywhere other than these two resorts, if your purchase plan is to accommodate five in a studio regularly.

For 5 even the ones with the small pull down bed will not be a good long term solution. You need to plan for a 1 BR as a minimum and with other family or kids guests, you'll quickly get to a 2 BR until the kids are not consistently going. Chasing the resorts that will sleep 5 will increase your costs in other ways. I'm assuming budget is the determining factor and if so, buying SSR and booking OKW will be your best long term approach from a cost/savings standpoint. That assumes of course that buying DVC makes sense for you otherwise.

The people that say that the studios have day beds may be confusing the Beach Club Hotel with the DVC Beach Club Villas. Some of the hotel rooms may indeed have daybeds. But those rooms are not available for points.

None of the BCV studios will sleep 5 unless 1 of the 5 is an infant under the age of 3. A portable crib is provided for the infant.

Even the BCV 1 bedroom villas officially only sleep 4 plus an infant. However, Member Services will register 5 of any age in the one bedroom villas. In that case, the guest must provide bedding, linens and towels for the 5th person. DVC resorts do not offer cots, rollaways or other means of accommodating extra guests.

Cost isn't the deciding factor, but I'm now thinking ak, points are selling for around $83/85, so I can get more points for the bigger rooms at the same price,
That way we can still book a GF studio, but can fall back on AK if need to.
The deciding factor is having a decent resort that if we can't get into the resort / dates we want we can fall back on.

you may be able to get into VGF occasionally but i wouldn't count on it routinely and if you do, it's likely to be a 1 Br and not a studio and that's true even if you own there. those prices are a little high for AKV i think. AKV is easy to get into so buying SSR and having AKV as a fall back plan is still workable owning SSR and SSR is significantly cheaper over time.

Our main concern with owning at Ssr is that official occupancy of studios and 1br is only 4, I know people are saying that disney allow 5 in a 1br but you take your bedding but we don't want to buy and then there's a big clamp down and we can only book then at the 7 month window!

My points were 2. That I doubt a studio is a good long term plan and that one should consider a 1 BR and possibly a 2 BR as the destination long term. And that it's possible to own SSR and not stay there, esp if AKV is the focus. It could change but it could change at any resort including those you mentioned other than the villas where the POS says 5.
