We just returned from a stay at the Beach Club Villas. Upon check in I noticed a mouse pad being used by Cast members that looked like a tapestry rug with Disney Vacation Club logo in the middle. I inquired every where I went and no one was able to tell me where to get one. I even tried ebay when we got home, no luck. Does anyone know where I can buy one? When were they sold or were they a perk of some kind. I would love to get one. Thanks

I can tell you that my husband threatened to walk into the lobby late at night and "borrow" one when no one was watching. They are really missing the boat if they think that Members would not want to purchase one of those. Hubby relaly liked the looks of those and we also looked everywhere to find them. Sure hope someone can help us out.

We won a mouse pad that sounds like what you saw. It was last summer at the members BBQ at BCV. I never did see one for sale anywhere.

I saw (and thought the same thing about swiping one!) the same one you were talking about & jsut figured it was a CM giveaway when BCV opened.

Agree with the poster that said if they offered this type of merch, members would be willing to buy. The lack of assortment at BCV is pitiful.

It is rather amazing how good Disney is at marketing in general but how poor they market DVC merchandise specifically. A lot of members would buy that pad but don't get the chance.

Just so you don't feel quite so bad...

My marketing company does promotional products which is what that mousepad is. The pad can be done with logos, designs, whatever woven in. We have done that pad for other clients. That particular piece is unique, generally quite beautiful if done well, and REALLY expensive for a mousepad!! We're talking over $10 (maybe $15-$20 depending on design) in quantities over 100. It would be even higher for them to mark it up to sell to you.

So, yes, they should have more merchandise, but I suspect most of us would gasp if Disney tried to sell us a mouserug for $30 or so!!

Oh, I love that mousepad too!!!!! I asked about whether she would "sell" it to me, but no go. :( I really would have paid for it, right then and there.

Considering that they add a DVC logo on & price a polo shirt of average quality at $52, when the same polo can be had for $7 at Target.......I think I could handle the markup, if only I could have an assortment of merchandise. I think that is what DVC members are dying for! ::yes::

Sooooo I guess no one knows where they came from. We all want to swipe one from the lobby. We all would pay for one. And Disney can't think of what things to maket next. Maybe they will read this and it will dawn on them. Thanks for your resposes.

Saw one of these being used at OKW just recently and when I commented on it, the CM said she gets tons of requests for them. I would love one of these.......Disney! Are you listening??

If they are affordable enough to purchase for use at the resorts and absorb them as an expense, I would think they would be affordable enough for DVC to be able to seel them.

The DVC used to have lots of neat promotional items that were hard to get. When they were closing down the sales office at HHI, my sister had made friends with one of the young ladies who worked there. She inquired about getting a mouse pad, but was not able to get one. However she was given coasters, playing cards, pens, a wooden glider, various cups, and even a yo yo with the vacation club logo. Also, while doing one of our add on's I was able to get my guide to send me a mouse pad, although it doesn't sound as nice as the one being dicussed.

When I did my 2 add ons, I would have much rather had a mousepad than a pen.

All the check in stations at OKW had them in Dec when we were there but they had no extra ones that I could fenagle out of them.

When we were at BVC in Feb we went to the weekly DVC meeting at the Boardwalk Community Hall and they gave us one in the folder of information they had sitting on the chairs when we came in. It is not in front of me right now so I can't remember exactly what it looked like but it was a DVC one. We also got a lanyard with a 10 year DVC pin on it.

I never understood the lack of DVC merchandise....i assume it is probably not cost effective....but dont you think maybe a yearly catologue around christmas would be nice?....I think many people would buy things
