Our villa is on the first floor, but quiet and with a great view of Illuminations every night. The first night, I thought the people upstairs were noisy...then I looked outside to see the sky lit up.

Check-in was slow but the staff is very nice and the Gingerbread & Chocolate Carousel in the lobby smells great. The resort is full but it doesn't seem crowded. We haven't even been to Stormalong Bay yet, but today was in the 60s and breezy and tonight is supposed to be in the 40s. It's supposed to be 75 on Thanksgiving Day.

I love the Disney transportation. We've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus. If anyone has any questions, I can try to answer them!

Glad to hear everything is well at the BCV and you're enjoying your stay. We leave for WDW today. Staying at POFQ for the first couple days and will arrive at BCV on Friday! We're hoping it warms up enough to enjoy some time at SAB!

That is funny about hearing Illuminations and thinking it was noise from above. :flower:

Have fun. Reading your report makes me "home" sick. :sunny:

Jenny, you have a great time too! :cool1:

I love it when someone posts from WDW. It makes me feel like I am already there! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Glad to hear the BCV is great! We have ressies from 12/2-12/9 in a studio. We asked for upper floors, hoping to get Illuminations view, but realize we might not get it. Did you use ME from the airport? I was wondering how long it takes for them (ME) to get to the BCV? Enjoy your stay! Bob

We ended up NOT using ME from the airport because we decided that we wanted to get to the resort as soon as possible. As it turned out, we landed at 8:40 pm, got our bags, had a ride from FL Tours, a grocery stop, and then ended up at the BCV at about 10:20pm. I honestly don't think that we were in our room until almost 11, check-in took a very long time. Given that, using ME would have probably been fine from a luggage standpoint. And, since our BCV refrigerator ended up being broken and ruined all of our food (!), we could have saved that grocery stop too! Oh well...live and learn. Anyhow, I heard that ME can take best case 75 minutes and worst case 2 hours to get to the resort. Luggage is 3-6 hours. Good luck!

On a happy note, the decorations were up today when we returned from MK! I was wondering what would be here besides the Gingerbread Carousel. It is starting to look amazing!

Thanks for posting. We're looking forward to our stay at BCV next July. :cool1:

Denise,

Tina from the other chat page. That's great you got a descent room when you checked in so late. I'm glad to hear that. Did you request any certain rooms at check-in? Also did you get a 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom? Also, are you still planning on doing Thanksgiving dinner there or at another timeshare?

Tina

Hi Tina,

At the time we made the reservation (11 months out, approx.), we requested a dedicated 2-bedroom, non-handicapped, non-smoking, high floor, quiet pool view. We received the first three of our requests and are very happy with the room. It is quiet, with easy access to EPCOT. We have a fantastic view of Illuminations (much better than a pool view).

We are doing Thanksgiving dinner at the HGVC on International Drive. My sister has a three-bedroom villa there that can accommodate 13 of us more comfortably than BCV. These villas are wonderful, but a bit too small for that many people PLUS a turkey. We ordered a precooked dinner from Publix and my sister picked it up today.

Ah, we saw the nighttime parade at MK tonight, it was great! I wish we could have stayed for the fireworks, but my DS3 and DD6 were exhausted. We saw bits and pieces of Wishes as the bus was driving away. I can't wait to come back some day and do more!

Is check-in always slow at BC? I will be there in Jan, and we usually stay at the Poly (which ci has always been good for us). Also, the ME does it only pick up at certain times?

This was our first visit to BCV, so I'm guessing that it was slow because it was fairly late at night and there weren't a lot of cast members around.

ME will pick up whenever, typically 3 hours or so before your flight for your return, and as long as they are expecting you at the airport when you arrive, they will be there. Have a GREAT trip!

Thanks for the info, I just did not want to be sitting at the airport waiting for someone to pick us up.
