Pulled up to the guard shack and after checking the guard sent us to the front desk as he had no pass for us. The front desk spent 10 minutes looking for our reservation until they found it under one of our guests names but had him listed as a resident at my address. Bcv management said it's an ms issue and this stuff happens all the time. Nuts.....

This started happening a couple of years ago when Disney made a software change. It's not a BCV, DVC problem, it's a Disney problem. If a reservation is modified after it is made, the names get rearranged. It really causes problems when they send the DME booklet to your guest, not living in your house.

Yes. This is awful. Now, my sisters family is the bane on our upcoming reservation even though we arrive first and are the members. It will create a problem at checkin. Tried to fix and MS said they can't.

We had this happen on a cash reservation we recently made. The reservation was listed under my 7 year old son! Crazy!

I've made reservations on-line with DVC and always list myself as lead guest. I've not made any changes to the reservations, and there are times when the order of the guests are changed. Usually it's just two of us and we are both in the car at arrival, so it's not a huge issue for us.

At eleven months out I made three reservations that needed to be linked. Just Bill and I. I emailed MS to ask them to link the reservations. The email always comes up as me, not Bill. He was listed as a member and I was listed as a guest (not a member). I e-mailed MS and asked them to change me to member which they did. On our trip in January, our son was listed as the lead guest on the reservation and I had put him as not a member, but a guest.

You can find out who is listed on your reservation by what designation by checking your reservation on the member website.

I had this happen today. Called at 180 days to make my dining reservations and I was not the lead on the reservation...Even though I'm the DVC member and the other two in my room are my guests.

Any person on the reservation can check in so there shouldn't be any problem for you.

I've also had this happen more than once since one of the "upgrades" or "enhancements". Now if someone can't find my name I just run down the list of everyone coming. Or you can see it under your reservation details online and be prepared.

This has happened to us on several trips. At check in they have the reservation under our son in law's name and he isn't even a member. :confused3 Also all of our DVC mail comes to me and never my DH who is actually the lead member.

I can hardly wait. Usually this isn't a problem, as lately it is just me. But I am in the planning stage for a group of 20, with a studio, 2 bedroom and GV. In the GV we'll have 3 different last names with 4 different address. Fortunately, we all live within 15 miles of each other...but still, since I'm sort of the coordinator for this group, on my points, I hope all the paperwork comes to me.

The 2 bdrm will also have 3 last names and 4 different addresses. The studio is the only unit that will be occupied by only one family, and they live in a different state...so hopefully they'll get their own ME paperwork OK.

I've found that ever since the My Disney Experience has kicked in, that it screws up who is in my family and who is a guest. It has DH listed as a guest and my MIL as family??? I know I entered it correctly so not really sure what's going on there, but as usual with Disney IT - it's crappy.

This has happened to be a few times. My boyfriend gets listed as the primary guest. Luckily I now work in the resorts and I can see when this is happening to my reservation. I am a bit nervous about our reservation at VGC since it has me, my boyfriend, his brother and his brother's girlfriend.

When you are at WDW, if this happens to you, ask the front desk CM to do a full search under your name and arrival date and they should be able to find your reservation.

I had this happen and my mom was the lead guest and she's not a member. I bet it happens again because I'll be adding her to our exisiting ressie. It gets rearranged in alpha order I think.

i advise anyone to take a copy of your emailed res. and on line ck in with you.

i have had several reasons to need mine.

once at akl club level, reserved 11 mo ahead. when i arrived the cm told me that i had called and cancelled:confused: my reserve and they had no room for me. if i had not checked in on line and had a copy with me we would not have a our rooms for that trip.

once at bwv i was given a lock off in a remote room because my family member was to be arriving and staying in the room next to me. i was traveling alone and they were listing my cr.card info for the other room also. when i asked that they change that, they told every one that i was confused and unable to make decisions for myself. :furious: i did have my paper work with me, but at the time was very insulted, as i am the only owner of my dvc and travel to wdw and abd trips to europe alone most of the time. i was given another room. but my trip was tainted from the beginning.

wdw front desk cms are not as nice as they used to be. you can not always depend on them to do the right thing.:sad2:

I don't know about it being alphabetical. We had 3 different reservations at BLT earlier this month. And on one reservation, my DB and his youngest son (an adult) and their wives were on the reservation along with 3 grandchildren. My Dnephew's name was listed as primary. But we listed my DB as primary when we made the reservation. And my DB's first name alphabetically comes before his son's (the have the same last name).

I think sometimes it would be easier if the CM's just ask for the reservation number versus names.

I even get PINCODES to my address, for friends of mine that live in another state (that have shared a room with me in the past). It is all mixed up. They sometimes have my friends first names with my last name on various mailings.

Today I got a mailing saying that I neglected to register my DL AP email address. I know it is registered. :surfweb:

I had this happen just about every time we have gone! :confused3 Our THV reservation was in my aunts name and she was not arriving until day 4 out of a 10 day trip. What was really bizarre on that trip my aunt, daughter, husband and I were all going to do the Epcot segway tour that I booked with dvc discount and paid for on MY credit card. My aunt decided not to go and my brother wanted to take her place so I called with the name change. When we showed up a Epcot it was listed under my aunts name ONLY and number in party was 4 - she is not even a dvc member and we did get the discount! We were suppose to show ID but I guess this must happen often.:headache:

Last trip in Dec THV portion was under DD's boyfriends name (again he was arriving a few days later) and then we switched to BLT and that ressie was under my oldest DD's name! I love the cards we get in the mail addressed to our GUEST "thank you smith family for staying with us" :rolleyes1

I hate that this happens.... I did have someone at MS help me (begrudgingly)

So once all guests are on your reservation view it online and if your name is not the top name (which is common).. call them back... have them remove every name except yours and force yours to the top... then re-add the guests and hopefully when they confirm it again you stay at the top. Thus far it's worked for me.

But.. if you waitlist or something and that confirms you may lose the top spot so wait until you have your final reservations all set.

I got so sick of my guests being the lead guest. :thumbsup2

FYI, the view that we see on the website is not the same as the reservation. You can be listed last on the website and the lead on the reservation. The only way to tell is to contact MS.

Maybe I've gotten laid-back in my old age, but as long as there is a reservation, and everyone's name appears on it; I've given up worrying about whose name is first, and who is a member or a guest.
