BCV for September at 7mo?

I'm planning to try to book BCV for September when the 7 month window opens. We're willing to try SSR if we can't get the BC, but I still want to do all I can to get our first choice. We're going in September almost specifically for for swimming...and we very much want to go to Stormalong Bay.

My question is, should I try to book day by day at the 7 month window for this? My plan is that I'll do my best to book BCV but if nothing is available I'll book SSR and go on the waitlist. I'm assuming I won't have trouble booking SSR. We don't want OKW because we plan to go there next January.

I didn't get a backup reservation at BWV because I didn't want to go through all the calling and changing reservations...plus I figured I will definitely be able to get in somewhere at 7mo in September.

Just wondering what others' experiences have been booking BCV at 7mo for September and if you have any advice.

We are new DVCers but I rented points for a 2BR at BCV last Sept. (18-26, 2005). The member made the reservations in April and had no problem getting the suite for the entire week - that was only 5 months out! They also honored our 'requests' for the view and a dedicated unit, no problem. September seems to be a very quiet month so I think you should be OK. We decided to move our regular Sept. trip back to Oct for our [then] three year old to enjoy MNSSHP and avoid a little humidity - but Sept is still my favorite with NO CROWDS! Good luck!

I just went through the trouble of calling each and every day for nine days, but I got the Beach Club, August 23rd through September 1st. SSR owner.

I don't think you will have a problem getting BCV in September at the 7 month mark.

My advice is to call MS as soon as you can and book the first day of your stay. Ask the CM how availability looks for the rest of the days you want. Based on the CMs answer, you'll know whether you need to continue to call day by day or if you can safely get by with just one more call. The CMs will not steer you wrong. I predict you'll only be making two calls.

I reserved a studio for my sister last september and had a choice of all resorts and views. I booked her for BW view, which I would love to have sometime. This was well within the 7 month mark. I'm thinking it was 5 months out. I perdict it will be very easy for you.

Thanks for the input...I'll be able to book my first 3 days the first day of calling because of the weekend, so it does seem likely only 2 calls will be necessary. I probably won't make any room requests...though I loved our view of the canal by the pool our last time there. We could see the gator from our balcony.

We just got back from WDW and somehow I always end up paranoid when I don't have anything else booked! LOL

I just booked a 1 br for the end of Aug. at BCV with no problem & I did not call day by day. I just waited exactly 7 months prior to our check-out day & I even called late in the afternoon. I just can't be bothered calling day by day. I was thrilled to get it, but I would've been happy at any DVC resort!

I just got BCV for July and I think July is much more crowded for DVC than Sept. I don't think you'll have a problem at all.

I just booked a 2 bedroom at BCV for August 7 - 12 at 6 months out. I really did not think I would get it (I made a mistake when looking at my 7 month window), however was pleased when they said there was availability.
