Below is taken from the DVC annual meeting held this month.

REFURBISHMENTS

Disney Vacation Club resorts utilize two refurbishment concepts in updating its villas. A "soft goods" refurbishment typically involves replacement of linens, draperies, wall coverings and floor coverings. "Hard goods" refurbishment expands to include select furniture and fixtures throughout the villas.

In 2015, Disney's Beach Club Villas will undergo a hard goods refurbishment. In addition to updates to most soft goods, the Beach Club refurb will bring the addition of the 5th sleeper to all Deluxe Studio villas and new faucets. Work is expected to begin in March 2015.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas will undergo a soft goods refurbishment in 2015 "with some hard goods elements." Specifically, the fold-down 5th sleeper is also being added to BoardWalk Studio villas. No date was specified for the BoardWalk renovation start.

Further down the road, Disney's Vero Beach Resort will undergo a hard goods refurbisment in 2016 with all villas receiving new bathrooms. Soft goods refurbishment projects are planned for 2017 at Bay Lake Tower, Treehouse Villas and Grand Californian.

This is awesome! We have a stay booked for Nov 2015. I hope some of the rooms will be updated by then for our stay!!

We have a May 2015 stay booked - is there any word on if SAB is being refurbished as well? I sure hope not!!! :) Thanks for the update!!

Any idea how long this type of refurb takes? We are planning to spend a few nights in a studio there towards the end of July. Do you think most units will be done by then? My DS hates the sleep sofas - the sleeper chair or pull down bunk would be a welcome addition for sure!!

Can I just clarify that Disney will be allowing 5 people to stay in the studios at BCV? Will this apply to the 1 BR too or just the studios? My family of 5 are looking to stay there early Aug 2015 and a 2BR is just so much! Do you think Disney will let us book for 5 for Aug already?

The official studio description on the website still says they "sleep up to 4" so I doubt they will let you book 5 until the refurbs actually start in March. But I would definitely call MS today to ask when they will start allowing the bookings. I wonder if you could book now w/ 4 names then add your 5th later?! It may also depend on how long the refurbs are supposed to take. :confused3

Just the studios. They are replacing the dresser under the TV (and the free-standing table) with a drop-down bed with a fold-down table bolted to the front, just as they did in VWL.

We are also there in May. SAB is being refurbished in February I believe. Will be open in May.

We are staying at BWV in October...I wonder if the refurb will A) include a sleep chair in the 1BR and B) be done by September? Not sure yet, but it's possible we will have 5 on just the first night of our 5 night stay. It would be great not to have to worry about this!

DH and I became new DVC members this year with BCV as our home resort. First trip isn't until Nov 2015 so whatever studio looks like will be new to us. My only "refurb" wish is that the 4-cup coffee maker in the studio gets upgraded to a 10 or 12 cup!!

No room for a sleep chair. They have only mentioned the pulldown for studios.
