I may have missed this earlier on the boards but I have had a ressie at BCV for Dec 05 which I booked 11 months out. Today I got a call regarding our June waitlist and during the conversation the CM told me that she couldn't see my points because of a note that said our Epcot view no longer exsists due to a new attraction. It seems Soar'in is in the way. With that noted she could veiw the points so I learned 2 things:
1. No more Illuminations from upper BCV rooms
2. DVC systems probably have much more
capability than we will ever know :rotfl2:

Just thought I would share, sorry if I am repeating old news.

That's garbage.

We stayed in a 5th floor studio in December and had a great view of Illuminations as well as Spaceship Earth in the other direction.

Yes, the Soarin' building is large and would obscure the view, but it's more likely to impact the Future World view than anything else. From our room, it blocked the Imagination Pavilion, but that was about it.

Other people have reported the same thing as you, and it just doesn't make any sense.

Hmmmmmm - What if we read between the lines a little bit? Could it be that too many people are making a fuss about wanting or not getting EPCOT views? And as a result, the Front Desk CMs are complaining about the members to the extent that MS/DVC feels compelled to manage expectations? Before they have to establish a "guaranteed IllumiNations view" (similar to what happened at BWV? ;) ;) :teeth:

I think that the requests were too high and the demands could not be met.

That doesn't sound right to me, either. We were just there two weeks ago over Easter and had a one bedroom on the third floor (373) and could see the "high fireworks" from Illuminations slightly to the right and Wishes if we looked left. I can only imagine the view would have been better from the higher floors. I don't believe the Soarin' building would obscure any of the views, maybe this is just a better way of managing expectations. BTW, we didn't even request the Epcot view. I think there is good and bad in all of the choices. Epcot view good- road noise and missing the "feel" of the resort from the balcony- bad...each to his own, but I hope more for a pool view next time!

Yup, old news. Just search the boards, we were talking about it in about January.

You just can't request an Epcot view anymore. If you find the threads, you will find the suggestions on how to request that side of the building.
