Would anyone change resorts based on the comforter? We have ressies for BCV and I really think I don't like the pictures I am seeing of the studios at BCV. I know this is crazy but actually considering switching to BWV instead. Also we found out that Stormalong Bay will be under refurb while at BCV so I am dissappointed.

Lets say I can get over the bed how about comfort of this and the couch at BCV compared to BWV. Anyone stayed at these two resorts lately?

Love opinions on pros and cons on switching. I already know size of BCV is smaller and closer to EPcot (as far as walking) Anything else???

TIA

I wouldn't change based solely on a comforter, but I am not you. Only you know how this would affect your stay. Some folks start off on the wrong foot and never recover and enjoy their vacation. If you are one that falls in that category, then you might consider changing.

We are staying at the BCV this Jan/Feb after staying at the BWV 3 different times. We love the BWV but want to try something different. Being the newer deluxe resort, the Boardwalk lobby is a little more detailed than the BC or YC, but how much time do you really spend in the lobby.

FYI, only portions of Stormalong will be closed at any given time. I think during the time you are there the slide portion will be closed.
If that is an issue, they will allow you to pool hop to the Boardwalk.

Thanks so much. Being that we have never stayed at either resort I was wondering about what I would be missing at BCV if the slide is closed. I know I picked BCV for the pool at the BC. But I really don't know what to expect with just the slide being clossed. I read something about a Lazy river section so I am wondering what the different parts of the pool are. I know my kids would love both the slide and the Lazy part and I guess I don't want to get there and have both sections closed. How about the pool at BWV. Is it fun?? We have a 5 & 7 year old.

Thanks!

I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. They are both in a great location. We prefer the BCV b/c of the short walk to Epcot. We go in the off season when the parks all close around 7 except for Epcot so we walk over every night. If the pool is a major concern and you think the kids would really prefer the slide then I would consider switching (assuming the BWV have a slide which I think they do).

We have stayed in studios at both BCV and BWV. There are pros and cons to each.

BCV--Room decor is lighter.
Has coffee table in front of sofa.
Larger safe in closet.

BWV--Room seemed darker although decor is pretty.
No coffee table in front of sofa which made it seem empty.
Shelves and cabinet under bathroom vanity--very nice.

If a slide is important to your kids, then I would switch to BWV. Luna Park pool is very nice and they have a clown slide. It is lots smaller than SAB though.

I'd be happy to answer any specific questions if you have some.

That was what I was looking for. I know when it comes right down to it we will be happy with both resorts. BUT.... It is My husbands grandparents last time to Disney before "they leave this world", as him grandmom states.

That being said I have a few more questions:

Would you say the walk from Epcot to the BWV is MUCH longer than the walk to BCV. I know BCV is closer but I can't find any map showing how the two connect over to EPCOT,

Also someone mentioned the long hallways at BWV. We would have a preferred room so I am not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing as far a close to the eleavators. I want to be mindful of the Elderly grandparents and the younger kids.

Thats interesting that you say the BWV seem darker. Did you stay in a Studio at BCV. I ask because the decor in the 1 & 2 bedrooms seem lighter. Also I cannot find a picture of the vanity at BCV and I noticed that I like the sink area in BWV and wondering if they are the same.

One last question. What about food? DO you prefer the choices around the BW or BC.

Thanks so much for your help!

Boardwalk has much better food choices, but it is only a boat ride ro walk away from BC. The walk to Epcot is about double from BWV as compared to BCV. The walk from BWV to MGM is shorter than from BCV. Boardwalk is close to Swan an Dolphin where there are many more dining choices as well. I'm not sure preferred view will guarantee you a short walk, I just don't know for sure.

Here is an ariel photo that may help...

Ariel photo of Epcot resorts

BCV is farthest to the left, with BC(left) and YC(right) on the closer edge of the lake and BWI(left) and BWV(right) on the other side. You can see half of the Swan and Dolphin to the right. The BCV building you can see the quiet pool centered in the middle of it's U shape. Also you can see the closeness of the self parking lot. BCV is closer to Epcot than BWV. There is a walkway that runs along the Epcot side of BCV then it is just over the canal and you are at the International Gateway. Of course BWV is closer to MGM! You can see the piers were the boats stop.
