We will be staying at the BCV for the 1st time this August. Due to back problems, my husband was wondering what the mattresses were like...Too soft ? Too hard ? Or just right ? I know , I sound like Goldilocks !!

That can't be answered--much too subjective. He can request a bedboard from housekeeping when youa rrive.
