BCV at 7 months?

OK. I know anything is possible but I want peoples opinion. We're looking to get a 2BR at BCV the first week of May 2013. What are my chances? Are my chances better then getting a studio or 1 BR this time of year?

I got a 2BR villa at BCV for four nights this coming May. I called at 5 1/2 months out. I wanted six nights but only four were available. If I had called at the 7-month window, most likely I would have gotten what I wanted. Yes, I think it is possible, but you may need to settle for a lock-off 2br instead of a dedicated 2br. The lock-off has a queen bed and sofa sleeper in the second br while the dedicated has two queen beds.

Not the same, but my SIL just got a 2BR at BCV for July of this year. She booked it a couple days into the 7 month window. And I think 2BRs are easier to get than 1BRs...they have more of them. We tried to book there with SIL...back in 2008 (July 4th week). We called about a week into the 7 month window and SIL could get the 2BR, but I could not get a 1BR...so we stayed at BWV.

I think your chances are pretty good - more likely for a one bedroom but good for a studio or two bedroom as well. School is in session in early May, it isn't a time people tend to pull their kids since they are finishing up the year and the Flower Show has never been a huge traffic driver.

I'd say pretty good. Primarily because school is still in session.

I would venture that demand for (BCV and access to lazy river) is down compared to what it was say five (5) years ago since there are so many more choices (resorts) now than before. One might also argue, however, that their are more DVC members than before and demand would still be rather high.

We traveled several times at that time of year and never had issues getting BCV at the 7 month mark. I always called first thing in the morning on the first available day.

There are 3 types of 2 BR at BCV:
2 BR Lock off (1BR + Studio)
2 BR dedicated w/2 queen beds in BR #2
2 BR dedicated w/1 queen and a full sofa bed.

the dedicated 2BR with 2 queens is the most difficult to get, only 25 of these.

If you call right at 7 months, you should not have any problem getting a 2 BR unit, the dedicated w/ 2 queens could be a problem.

I booked Boardwalk at my 11 month window for July 2012. At my 7 month window, I called on the first day and was able to get into BCV. My reservation is for a 2 bedroom villa btw.

Nobody knows for sure and availability will only get worse as additional members are added.

I have tried to determine availability at the various times of year at the different resorts and there are just too many variables.

I was able to get a dedicated two bedroom(not two queens though) at 7 months for this June! I think you have a good shot! good luck!

I would agree with what others have said, we own at BCV and May is one of the months that gives you the best chance at 7 months.
