First off, let me thank each and everyone for the advice we have been given to date!!! New to join DVC and everyone here is just so helpful :goodvibes
I need more advice....here goes. We love BCV and wondering whether we should do a 200 points DVC resale here OR 100 pts BCV and 100 pts AKV. BTW, can we buy direct thru Disney for only 100 pts AKV or is that a min. of 160 pts?, I need this part clarified. Our stays predominantly we plan would be at BCV....but the incentives AKV have right now are just so GOOD!!! Suggestions, please! Our norm stay is about a week or a bit less which 200 pts total work for our family. THANKS DVC friends!!! :)

Soon to be DVC :cool1:

100 pt is a "summer special" for AKK. we were told last week, when we signed, that they didn't know when it would end.
good luck with your decision.

Have you stayed at AKL or AKV yet? Personally, I love it and that is where I own. However, some people think that it is too dark for them and also some people think that it is too out of the way.

I'm am considering the opposite. I love AKV and I have all my points there. But I am considering an add-on at one of the EPCOT area resorts since EPCOT is my favorite park. I am planning on staying at BWV and BCV during my December trip so that I can check out both resorts to help me decide. I considered buying at one of them earlier, but decided that I wanted to stay there first to make sure that I liked them.

AKV as you said is out of the way for us as well as "too dark". We love the "liveliness" of that boardwalk area. But, like I said, I would invest in AKV because of the incentives which end on 9/20/08.

Why didn't our guide tell us about the 100 point special at AKV. We were there last week and when we asked her what the min would be she did say 160 pts. Maybe I should call her first thing Monday am?

AKV 100 point first time buyer purchase is expected to expire Sept. 20. It is an excellent way to get started. If you are ready right now to buy a contract you may want to take advantage this week. It is possible that Disney may extend this offer but no way to know that for certain.

If you start off with 100 pt AKV then you can decide in the near future or further down the road even to do add-on contract(s) at other DVC resorts ( maybe booking at stay at another resort you are considering at 7 month window & see how you really feel about owning points there ) instead of committing to purchasing a larger number of points at the get-go.

You get more incentives if you buy 160 pts versus 100 pts at AKL but if you prefer BCV that is, IMO, definitely where you should buy all of your points.

Very true and excellent advice fadedgirl :thumbsup2

Buy where you love to stay most, can't ever go wrong with that.
