BCV and BWV activities? SSR Preferences?

Hi everybody!

Got back from a wonderful trip to SSR June 1-June 7 on rented points (studio). Now I want my own points! I am trying to persuade my DH and I have some questions.

Our last day really worked out because ME was not arriving until 4:00pm; DH, DD, DS, were at main pool while I packed, then I joined them in a shaded area. When kids were too burnt out from sun & fun, they went to the Community House where DD did craft and DS played video games, and then we had a late lunch in AP before we left. I also liked the idea of all the activities SSR had like movie night, bingo, etc. Does BCV and BWV have all that?

We stayed at the Springs (middle building), which was wonderful, and if we stayed at SSR, that is my preferred place to be. Do people generally get their requests?

Will DVC allow five or six people in a one bedroom? Is that even practical?

Finally, if we bought SSR as a home resort, are people successful in getting BCV studios or 1 bedrooms at 7months?

BWV has a community hall, BCV doesn't.

The AKV 1 bedrooms in Kidani, the new building that's going up, will have 2 bathrooms and willl accomodate 5 people, with sleeping for the 5. In Jambo, there already are 1 bedrooms with just 1 bath, but with the sleeper chair in the living room, so there are sleeping accomodations for 5. In the other DVC resorts, Member Services has said in may cases that you can have 5, but they will not provide any linens, towels for that 5th person. 6 people? not in a 1 bedroom.

Lots of people mention that they own at SSR, (or other resorts, but there are more SSR owners) and want to change, very often into BCV, at 7 months. Success depends on how many BCV owners booked ahead of you and how quick you are on the phone at 7 months out. IF you can't get into the resort you really want to stay at, it doesn't make sense to buy something else. If you're happy with SSR, and would like to stay there most of the time buy there. Many people have had success getting into BCV during May and during the summer.

Also, the different sections of SSR are not guaranteed at booking at this time. Many people have asked for guaranteed booking of area, and apparently it is being considered, but no positive word on that yet.
