BCV add-on waitlist

DH has agreed to one final add-on (for now). But we want to buy from Disney (DH will not go with a re-sale) at BCV. All of our other points are at BCV and like they say, "buy where you intend to stay." We are looking at adding 100 points.

We will be at "home" in May and are wondering if we should wait until then to look into adding on or call our guide now and get on the list and hope that maybe there will be some points open up. Has anyone added on through Disney lately at BCV? How long were you waitlisted? Any advice, ideas, thoughts?

I think your waitlist will depend on someone trying to purchase BCV through resale and having an agreement that is at a price where DVC finds it to thier advantage to buy the points themselves, instead of letting the sale go through. There is no telling when that might happen or if the new $95 per point price will raise the point value at which Disney does this. You might find a resale for 100 points for BCV, from someone wishing to get rid of an add on they purchased. The price will be better than the current $95 per point price through Disney. If you put yourself on the list now, you can always pass later when they call if the timing is not right for you. I don't have personal experience for a wait list add on for BCV to share.

I called Monday and did a 50 pt add on at BCV at $84/pt through disney. If you call now, I think it is $84 to do add ons.

There was no waitlist. My guide told me how many points were available for my use year and I took them. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info "thechangingtable." Was the offer to sell back the first years points and save $10 a point available with your add-on?

If so I thnk I may be able to talk DH into doing an add on this week instead of waiting until May.

I did NOT get the offer for $79.00 a point from my guide. I do not know if that was available. That would be sweet though. Try it!

There may not be a waitlist for your February use year, but there is a waitlist for other use years. There was nothing at all for August when I called yesterday, and my guide said that they've been told not to encourage current members that an add-on will come through.

She also believes that the $84 add-on price will remain the same for now, unless you're adding on SSR points. Regardless if it does or not, by waitlisting, you do lock in at that price. I needed to give my credit card so that she could put the sale through immediately if something came up.

Last fall, DW bumped into another interesting problem, they did not allow add-ons within 2 months of use year. We lost out on points that were gone by the time we were able to buy again. Is this just a one time glitch or a policy?

I did an add on in November - I have a December use year. I don't know why you were told you couldn't. I only had 2 weeks to use the points, thankfully I was able to rent them out. I would have hated for them to be lost.

Sounds like it worked out well, Lexxifern, I think I may just go the route of buying resale points, especially with the upcoming price increase at VSSR (don't you love the acronyms).

It has been talked about here for the past week that there is no more waitlisting at all.

Thanks Happy Birthday Cat, Just got the call today from our guide. Looks like "big doings" going on with the DVC. They are really pushing SSR.
