BCV 7 months out

hi all - I'm new to the DVC world. What is the likelihood of being able to secure a 2 bedroom at BCV at 7 months out during spring break? We would like to do 6 nights. And our spring break tends to be late, so not one of the busiest weeks. Our friends just bought resale at SS but we're not sure we would be able to get BVC. Any thoughts?

BCV is mostly lock-off 2BRs, with some dedicated 2BRs, which helps matters. In general, for the spring break period, you can probably book part of your stay, but not all of it. From March to mid-April for 7 month bookings, there will usually be a day or two you need to book a backup split-stay and/or waitlist.

It's definitely a case where I would book home resort at 11 months, and be locked and loaded to try to book at 8AM on your 7-month date.

If you will be seeking time during the Star Wars race weekend, there could be a problem. It is unknown when that will be in 2017 but I assume it will be announced soon. In its inaugural year, 2016, it was mid-April, but mid-April 2017 is Easter and thus the Star Wars weekend is likely to be some other time in 2017. If you will be seeking time that begins the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday after Easter, you could also have an issue because those reserving at 7 month out from the Saturday or Easter Sunday can possibly fill those dates. Otherwise, in the past four years, BCV 2BRs (in one form or another but usually at least in lock-off and dedicated 2BR form without the two queens in the second bedroom) have been open at 7 months out for both March and April.

Thanks for the info. Are lock offs more available than dedicated, because actually we would prefer a lock of because of the new trundle bed in the studio.

How difficult is it getting a 2 br in August. BLT is our home resort, will reserve at 11 months and see what is available at BCV at 7 months. My grand kids really want to stay at BCV once for the pool.

Sometimes the dedicated 2BRs book full first and sometimes the lock-offs.

For August 2016, for which blocks of rooms weekly have been designated as out of service for the refurb that is going on, there was somewhat of an issue at 7 months out. Usually, a 2BR in one form or another was open but there were several days where whatever was open filled very quickly at 8 a.m. at 7 months out. Next year may be better since the refurb will be over.
