Does anyone have specifics on the 25 dedicated 2 bedroom/2 queen bed villas at BCV? I'm wondering how many may be non-smoking, handicapped accessible, where they are located, if there are balconies in the second bedroom, etc.

When we booked they never said anything about the villa being one of these, but it turns out it is, and I'm wondering how much harder it may be then to get any requests granted if there are only 25 of them to start with, compared to 53 of the dedicated 2BD with the sleeper/queen combo.

I don't know if there is a way to request or change what you get, but I'm trying to figure out at this point how much of an impact this will have on things which may be more important to us than the bedding in the 2nd bedroom.

We have requested nonsmoking, and a quiet location. We'd probably prefer not to have a handicapped accessible room because some of the features of that might be less desirable with the kids, but I hate to request too much if it's going to be hard for them to fill any requests with the limited availability of these units.

Any insights would be appreciated! I looked at the layout thread, but I didn't see where it had any info on these types of specifics. Thanks so much!

Laura... My understanding is that they are pretty spread out around the resort. I know there is only 2 of them on the 5th floor. One of the two is a very quiet woods view room. By the sheer fact that there is only 25, you are correct that there will be less options.

We just returned from BCV last week. We were in a dedicated 2 br. (2 queens in 2nd bdrm) room 531 with a veiw of the epcot fireworks over the roof of the other section of the bldg. Ours was non smoking, which we requested.

There is a long balcony with 2 sets of plastic chairs and tables. It is not accessible from the 2nd bedroom only from the living area and the master suite.

We also requested a pool view but that didn't happen, as it turned out, we checked in early and this room and the studio next door were ready at 2:00 when we arrived we were happy after 2 days on the road to have the room and get settled. the fireworks view was a bonus.

Terry, thanks for the information, I guess it isn't what I wanted to hear, but at least we're prepared now for what we may end up with!

Cyndy, thanks for the report. How was your stay? My hunch is none of the 2 queen bedrooms have balcony access from the second bedroom, as that is probably part of the reason they are able to accomodate the two beds.

I just found out the other day that we're in one of these 2 queen villas for our August trip, I guess I should call and ask about our December trip since we're probably assigned one way or the other for that also.

Thanks again!

What did you want to hear? What requests did you need to make? Do you need a HC room? If all ou want is non HC and non smoking, you should be OK but I'd still put in the requests that fit your needs.

Really the most important thing to us is a quiet location where we'll be able to sleep at night. We'd also prefer a non-smoking villa, and would prefer that we have the regular bathtub. And these things are all more important to us than having the two queen beds, but unfortunately we didn't have any say in that! If our assignment was based on a larger pool of rooms, ie, all the dedicated 2BD, or even just the dedicated 2BD with the sleeper/queen combo, it seems to me we'd have a better chance of having our requests met, so that's why it's not particularly good news to hear. If there are only 25 of the units to start with, it seems like it would be pretty hard to honor many requests, so at least we'll be prepared for that.

Cyndy.... Room 531 is a dedicated studio. Room 533 next door is a 2 bedroom with 2 queens. This is the room I was referring to in my earlier post. It is a fairly quiet woods view room.

Someone asked about how the trip was.....terrific, so much so that I got my room numbers switched! LOL Hey, we had a total of 17 (one part of the family at OKW) Thanks for clarifying Terry.

We were in the 533 dedicated 2 bedroom. Others in the group were in the dedicated studio.

PS we did not request dedicated rooms, but were very happy to get them. Over our last 10 or so trips since joining DVC we found that Non-smoking was the request we always got and sometimes our other request for the view was honored but most often it was a nice view but not the one we requested. I still haven't figured it out yet but I would certainly request each item in the order of it's importance.

On two trips we took a friend who was terminally ill and we always received lodgeing for them in OKW elevator bldgs or if we requested handicapped it was honored.

I think after the 4th or 5th trip my DH began to understand that
we are at Disney so regardless of the view let's have a great time. Things usually ends up being magical.
