Hey all,

I am looking at the availability search function and I noticed for Beach Club it's showing 3 options for the 2 bedroom... I am confused-- don't they just have either a dedicated or a lock off? Why 3 picks?

2-Bedroom Villa
Up to 9 37-43 Points 382 Points
2-Bedroom Lock-Off Villa
Up to 9 37-43 Points 382 Points
2-Bedroom Villa – 2 Queen-Size Beds
Up to 9 37-43 Points 382 Points

The three types are:
Lock off
Dedicated with two queen beds in the second bedroom
Dedicated with 1 queen and 1 queen pull out in the second bedroom.

Due to the shape and size of the rooms, some dedicated 2 bedrooms could not fit the 2 queen beds.

You get a reservation that states what you have. I have the dedicated with 2 queens for my May stay.

Oooh I didn't know they had 2 dedicated types... learn something new every day... This is the only DVC to offer two dedicated types, right?

Actually, I think the sleeper sofa in the dedicated is only a double because the room was too small to fit another queen bed in the room. I don't see how a queen sleeper sofa that is bigger than a queen bed would fit.

I've often wondered about that too but they report it to be a queen so I've thought that maybe it's the difference between clearance needed for a stationary piece of furniture vs a "temporary" pull out bed.

The one I was in did have what seemed to be queen sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. It was rented for cash by my cousin who invited me, and the pull out was huge. I do not usually sleep on sleeper sofas, but I did then.

I just checked the member website and they show it to be a queen sized sleeper sofa. BUT, they also note the sleeper sofas in the lockoff are both queen sized as well. And the studio has a double sized. They must magically wave a wand over the lockoff sleeper sofa and it grows to queen sized if you book the two bedroom and shrink to double if you book the studio.

We've had these several times.
I've noticed that most if not all are at the end of a hall or corner. Must be a tad bigger there.

The one that I slept in the sofa bed was at the end of a hall.

Even the dedicated 2BR with the 2 beds have different layouts, if I remember correctly. One has the entrance to bedroom #2 in the entrance area. Nice. The other has the door across the room, by the outside wall. We did not like this one, because when we had one person sleep on the living room pull out couch, you had to hop over the corner of the bed when exiting or entering BR #2. In our case, the living room sleeper liked to sleep in, lol.

This would not be an issue for most, few use that pull out couch I would think. But we used to be able to ask for that particular layout, with the door near the entrance. This was awhile ago, we have not stayed at BCV in at least 8 years, even though it is our home resort! (many years used our points at VGC or BLT).
