I am having a hard time deciding where to stay and I am looking for some input! After staying at the Beach Club Villas last year for the first time, we were amazed with the property. We loved walking to Epcot, MGM, the Boardwalk, etc., and Stormalong Bay was wonderful. So this year at the 11 month mark I booked day by day at BCV for my birthday stay. However, as you can tell by my signature, we used to always stay at Old Key West, and quite honestly, I miss it! We haven't stayed there in a few years.

So I looked into how many points it would be to stay at OKW instead. For a 1 bedroom we are using 106 points at BCV. The same dates in a 2 BEDROOM at OKW would be 107 points. SO, for 1 tiny little point more we could have a larger unit, second bedroom, 2nd bathroom, etc. We will have 4 adults, so I think not switching woud just be silly. But I don't know if I'm willing to give up the wonderful Beach Club! I am torn!

So I guess my questions are...

Is Old Key West still as nice as it used to be, or is is getting kind of run down?

Should I sacrifice the convenience of BCV for more room?

Do all 2 bedrooms at OKW have 2 queens in the second room?

Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

All OKW 2BR have two beds.
I've been going to OKW since 1999 and still think it is Magical. I love all the extra room.
4 adults in a 1br at BCV IMO would be tight.
As you know the bus service at OKW is good.
What type of trip are you planning? If you think you will like to hop to EPCOT and MGM then BCV might be the better choice. How about splitting the trip?

Yes it is.

I would.

Yes.
Good luck on your decision, and have a great vacation.

I would go with the 2 bdrm at OKW but that is JMHO! I'm planning a trip in Nov and am going to book 2 2bdrms for 8 adults! Everyone needs their own bedroom and potty! But that's just me!

It is certainly a hard decision. I know I've looked at all the choices many times and couldn't make up my mind!

Just came back from a trip to OKW last month and it's every bit as beautiful as the first time I visited the model in 1993. If you liked it before, you'll still like it now.

To me, there's something to love at every resort and it's fun to "mix it up" each visit. An all adult trip is always nicer when you can have some "space" -- your own bedroom and bathroom just make life a lot easier. You'll also have the living room space free to be used for "socializing". This trip, I'd go with OKW.

If you haven't been back to OKW since they put in the new boat, I think you'll find the boat ride to DD easy, convenient and a lot of fun! Get off at Disney WestSide and spend the evening winding your way back to the boat dock in the Marketplace -- or hop the bus instead.

Another reason I can't bring myself to switch to OKW is that this is our now annual New Year's Eve trip. For our first NYE trip we stayed at the Boardwalk Villas, then last year BCV, and then this year of course we have BCV reserved. Anyway, we don't like going to the parks on NYE, it is too crowded. That is why this area was perfect. We would just hang out on the Boadwalk and then at midnight head over to the bridge between Boardwalk and Beach Club and watch the fireworks and then walk right back to our villa. Since we don't go to the parks on NYE I don't know that there will be anything to do at Old Key West!

If only my 60 point add-on at BCV would come through...then I would have enough points for a 2 bedroom there. Not that I could get it at this point for NYE!
