@bcla - a question for you

A couple of restaurants here have some amazing bacon snacks.

First Watch has something called Million Dollar Bacon. It's really good bacon, with brown sugar, maple syrup and pepper.

Maple STreet Biscuit Company has Maple Pepper Bacon..so good.

The best bacon I've found at the stores is Nueske's. It smells like a campfire, and tastes like heaven.

Costco has a better idea:

That looks good, but these things are extra sweet and tasty - and filling with just a few bites! I had them for the first time yesterday (not gonna make a habit of it, but saw them on the menu and wanted to try). I was barely hungry for the rest of the day!

I know @bcla likes his fast food! These are worth a try!

That's just sadness in a package. Isn't the smell of sizzling bacon 50% of the goodness of bacon?

I live in a Dunkin’ desert so to speak, so no. Not sure that appeals to me.

The smell was amazing - just ask my dog!

Aww, I checked your area (where I thought you live - my sister lived in the same area) before I posted and thought I saw several! Ok if not your thing!

No. The only Dunkin Donuts I’ve been to is at the Cleveland airport and the food was disgusting. We had a local one open up a couple years ago but I’ve never gone there.

They are just finishing up building a Dunkin Donuts about a mile from me. down the highway from you. But having had their donuts and coffee in other states, and being a diabetic, not sure I will ever go there.

We have Dunkin's everywhere around here (Chicago). I stop a few times a year. Marie has a firm voting ritual. After voting, whatever the vote is for, presidential, local, primary, etc., she will stop at the local Dunkin' on the way home for a Bavarian Kreme and an Old Fashioned, both for her and for me. Unbroken tradition.

I have at least 5 Dunkins in a 2-mile area around my house and l love those bacon snackers. I don't get them often, but they are good. My husband, who NEVER drank coffee until strokes, has me stop and get him one at least once a week. Since he likes it with cream and mocha swirl but no sugar, it is only a once a week treat. On the positive side he pays for me to get one too since he can't drive to get it himself, and every now and then I add the Bacon Snackers. Now I want them and I just came home from Dunkin.

Sorry taz! :p

Yikes, that's hard to imagine where I am. - Like these people said, you can't throw a rock without hitting one here!

That’s unfortunate. It’s a staple where I live
I have 3 DD in my 3 mile town.

PS - I would definitely try the bacon!

Lol I just checked the app and saw the bacon! I don’t feel like going out in the cold and I imagine food delivery apps would not work well with hot bacon and coffee.

I think I've noted that I live near Berkeley, so it's kind of in a weird spot for these types of franchised chain businesses.

It's kind of weird where their locations are in the Bay Area. They just reentered the Bay Area market a few years ago. I think the first one was actually in Half Moon Bay, which is just kind of a weird spot for any kind of high volume business. I did make a trip after the location in Walnut Creek, California opened. My kid was asking for their coffee flavored lip balm, which they did have. There's another in American Canyon (Napa County) that I've been to a few times because it's close to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. But otherwise it's a bit out of the way.

No Krispy Kreme either. There was one big one - the size that supports delivery to supermarkets, but for some reason that closed. And then one of the tiny ones didn't survive.

I'm still waiting for the food truck festivals to come back. There's one truck called Bacon Bacon. Their big one is a bacon cheeseburger, but then there's the chocolate covered bacon and the bacon bouquet (the menu describes it as bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon). I'm also not opposed to just eating real bacon sprinkles by itself.

There are now over a dozen in the San Francisco Bay Area, but there's a big hole where there aren't any from Marin County and San Francisco to the Oakland/Berkeley Hills. The closest to me seems to be near Oakland Airport.

I'm also a donut guy, and the last time I had one it didn't seem all that great. I heard that they're all made at a central location in each region and then delivered daily. I'm used to mom and pop donut shops that fry them on site. Even the supermarkets around here make their donuts in a back room somewhere. I'd love if there was Tim Hortons around here though.
