I'm debating between these resorts and wondering if the BC/YC is worth the extra cost. I can get a standard room at the Dolphin for $199 vs. a standard room at the BC/YC for $315. Is it worth it?

Also, can you walk from the Dolphin over to the Boardwalk?

I'm very partial to the Swan but both the YC and BC are beautiful resorts, it really depends on how much you want to spend and of course the decor you are looking for, etc. But in my opinion the rate that you received I would stay at the Dolphin because it is very much worth it.

I love the Epcot resorts because you can walk to both Epcot and MGM or take the boat.

Yes, the BW is just a short walk away.

Good luck in your decision. :)

The Dolphin is very short walk to Boardwalk, everything is all right there together including YC/BC. You can always go over and visit YC/BC to eat, very short walk.

I think it depends on if you want the dining plan and if you want to use Magical Express. If either of these are the case, then you could not stay at the Dolphin. If you are trying to factor the price, include if you have to pay for a rental car/limo service and if you have to pay to park at your hotel/parks.

For a substantial $$ savings I'd go with the Swan/Dolphin. I have stayed at the BWI many times and the Swan twice. The Swan is a beautiful, upscale resort. Very nice rooms, but no disney touches. But being right there at Epcot makes the S/D seem very Disney. I mean, some rooms look out toward Tower of Terror -- how much more of a Disney view could you get?

We love the Epcot area. Imagine the letter Y -- the open end of the Y is Epcot World Showcase entrance. In the center and down through the bottom of the Y is a lake where the Friendship boats travel between Epcot and MGM. All the Epcot resorts are in a circle around the lake. YC/BC are closer to the entrance of WS, but the other resorts are not far from it.

It really depends a lot on if you want to have the dining plan or use ME because Swan/Dolphin don't participate. The Swan and Dolphin use Disney transportation to the parks, sharing buses with one of the other Epcot resorts so you wouldn't need a rental car to get to the parks.

My thoughts exactly!

We had an Epcot view during our recent stay and every morning opening those blinds to see Spaceship Earth...I knew exactly where I was.:wizard:

Nothing better than sitting on the balcony and watching Illuminations from the balcony and we could also see Wishes:)

Epcot is my favorite park so every night I was there with DH just walking around. My teenage boys are 18 and 20 so if they weren't with us they were off doing their own thing.

I especially also love walking the BW to enjoy the nightly activities going on there. You also have the YC and BC there so you could go there at any time.

I just think it's a perfect location:thumbsup2

We did a split stay at the Dolphin (3 nights) & BCV (6 nights) this summer.

The Dolphin was very nice, but we LOVED  the Beach Club!!

Next summer, we'll just do the entire trip at BCV.
That resort is so wonderful, that my family & I just wanted to hang out at the resort & skip park touring.

For a price difference of $116/night plus tax - I would certainly stay at the Dolphin. The Dolphin is probably the same distance to the Boardwalk as the Yacht/Beach Club are - depending on which end of the Boardwalk you're visiting.

The Dolphin is in a great location - but it is very much not a Disney resort. It's lovely, but you'll feel some of the magic is missing if you're used to staying at a Disney resort. I'd personally not choose to stay there unless BC/YC/BWI weren't available.

We stayed at the YC for the first half of our trip and then stayed at the Swan for the 2nd half on points. I should have just paid for the YC the whole time, because I was wishing I was there the whole time. I really don't like the "high" rise hotel feeling while I'm at WDW. I'd pick YC/BC/ or BWI. JMO
