How far are the rooms to eating places and refillable mugs? and to the buses and how long of a walk to Epcot? When I look at the map it looks like it might be a hike but that could be deceiving.

The international gateway at EPCOT is a five minute walk from the back door of the lobby of the Beach Club.

The Beach Club Marketplace and the Cape May Cafe are located just off the lobby. The walking distances to these would vary based on your room location. I don't imagine that it would be more than a 5 minute walk from the farthest room to the lobby.

I can't answer your refillable mug question with any authority. I think the soda fountain for the refillable mugs is in the Beach Club Marketplace, but I could be wrong about that.

ETA - The intra-Disneyworld bus stop is about a two minute walk out the front door of the Beach Club. The Magic Express Bus Stop is at the front door of the Beach Club

It depends where your room is located. The Marketplace is where you would get your quick food and refillable mugs, and that is right next to the elevator. Cape May is off the lobby. Beaches and Cream is halfway between BC and YC, so not too far.

If you have a room that is in the side of the resort located between the lobby and Epcot, none of those rooms are too far away. There are several exit doors that open up to the outside that are short cuts to Epcot, the Boardwalk and the buses. If your room is above the restaurants, then the walk could be a bit longer. There aren't any secret doors to the outside in that section, so you'll always have to go to the elevator to get out. But none of the walks are too long.

The buses are not too far from the lobby. The longest walk will be to the boat launch to Epcot and DHS. But the walk to Epcot is really short from the BC, which is a huge benefit of staying in that resort.

The distance around the boardwalk, past the BC, YC and BWI is only about 3/4 of a mile, I think. So nothing is a real far walk.

We were in 2624, right off the lobby and elevators. It was a quick trip to the Marketplace for mug refills or a snack, and also in the middle of the pool, buses and Epcot. The walk to Epcot isn't too long no matter where you are really.

My preference is to be close to the lobby and Marketplace, I wouldn't have wanted to be on the far end closer to Epcot.

You can't possibly get any closer to Epcot's International Gateway. You are literally there! Beach Club location can't be beat in my opinion! Everything is just a short walk.
