I asked this in the DVC but only got one little reply so far...

I am a DVC owner and BWV is my 'home'. We stayed there for the first time last year. Very nice. I requested non-smoking and close to elevators and got it. Loved our location.

Well, this year, for certain reasons, I could only get one bedroom preferred view at BWV for Oct 30 - Nov 4 and not standard. Then after booking the preferred view I realized for the same points I could try out BC and check out their amazing pool! Plus I love trying new resorts! Well, when I ran this by my DH, he wasn't excited at all and said he preferred BWV.:( He didn't say no though so since I'm the planner, I started the process of switching to BC. I make my last call Monday for Nov 2 and 3 (wish me luck!). I told my DH last night that I officially started to make the switch. He wasn't happy.:(

Well, now I need some help. I need some PROS to staying at BC over BWV. I need to know what I'm in for. I'm so afraid DH will be disappointed when we check in.

What kind of room should I request? I've already mentioned non-smoking. I like being near the elevator (near the lobby) like I was at BWV. Is that a reasonable request? I don't want to walk too far to get to my room if at all possible. We'll have a car but will only use it occasionally. Do I have to worry about getting the first floor or a handicapped room? I wouldn't want those. I only want to make 2 requests...non-smoking and probably near elevator?? Should I request a pool view though? I'm so confused.

I've heard wonderful things about the pool, Cape May and Yachtsman Steakhouse and I can't wait to try them out. Will my 2 DD's ages 5 & 8 be welcomed in the Yachtsman Steakhouse?

Any other tips, advice, opinions, or PROS you can tell me about the BC would be greatly appreciated!

Also are the rooms smaller than BWV? I know they are smaller than OKW. Thanks!:teeth:

My family prefers the BWV as well. That said, the BCV are nice as well. Go and try it. Maybe split your stay so you are both happy. The building is not so drawn out at the BCV so the "being close to an elevator" isn't as big of an issue as it is at BWV. The walk is closer to Epcot, most love the pool. Either way you can't go wrong.

We own at BCV. I like the fact that I can self park relatively close to our room at the BCV vs the distant self parking at BWV. The self parking at BCV is even closer than the valet parking at BCV.

The rooms are nearly identical except for colors. I love the quiet pool view. It's much quieter than a Luna Park view. We haven't stayed in a room with a quiet pool view at BWV, so I can't compare those.

SAB is better than Luna Park. You have Beaches and Cream very handy, plus Cape May Buffet is great for breakfast. And if you like seafood, the dinner buffet is supposed to be very good as well.

If the buses work the same as before, BC and BCVs get on before BW and BWV.

The hallways at BCV aren't quite as long as the hallways at BWV.

Kids are very welcome at Yachtsman Steakhouse. They have a fun dessert for kids where they paint white chocolate Mickey puzzle pieces.

When we stayed in a one bedroom at BCV, we had a long balcony that extended between the bedroom and living room.

There are two sets of elevators, one near the main entrance and another set near the back door by the parking lot.

It's a much shorter walk to Epcot from BCV than BWV.

My husband and I are DVC members with BWV as our "home, as we, too prefer BWV. That said, two years ago we did a split stay at BCV and BWV, since we just had to try out the pool and we adore the Cape May Cafe clambake. We found the rooms to be near the same size at BWV and BCV.

We requested and received a 5th floor room; from what we had read some of the the 5th and 4th floor rooms offer views of Illuminations. The room was quite nice, but we never did get a chance to see if we could see Illuminations-- we were always out of the room during this time.

We enjoyed Stormalong Bay (love the "hidden" hot tub), and even rented a tube to float around the area with the current-- very relaxing. There was a great kids playground at the pool and I think an area where kids could play in some sand.

As I mentioned, the Cape May Cafe Clambake is a must-do for us every trip (can't get enough steamers-- and we're from New England!) Also, the tables are covered in butcher paper and they give crayons to the kids to decorate the "tablecloth." The clambake also has the best dessert buffet (Oreo bon bons) and a kid's buffet with chicken fingers, pizza, mac n' cheese, fishsticks. We also tried Yachtsman Steakhouse and were duly impressed (DH proclaimed the ribs to be the best). We did see children at dinner and I believe they have a special menu for kids.

Don't forget Beaches N' Cream-- great for an ice cream treat!

For us, the walk was a little shorter to EPCOT from BCV than BWV, but that could be based on where we have styed in both resorts. BCV also has a lovely TV room at the entrance to the villas that always seemed to have something family-friendly on TV.

Hope that helps a bit!
