I'm currently booked at the BC for this December for 7 nights over New Years Eve, I'm booked on a Come back code. I just found out that I could stay at the Swan for the same 7 nights for about $500 less. I have never stayed at either resort. I need some options from anybody that has stayed at both for there option if BC is worth the extra. We have been thru both and was very excided about staying at the BC, but $500 is alot extra.

A couple of years ago we had the same delimma, and went with the BC. That was just for the pool. Since you're going in Dec. I'm not sure how much you'll use the pool, but it is well worth $70/nite more (IMHO).

I haven't stayed at the swan yet, but I'd try it for $500!! It sounds like a very nice hotel. I'd guess that over NYE you'd have more families and fewer convention goers, which could make for a less business-like atmosphere than usual.

The pool at the Swan looks pretty great, too! We enjoyed SAB, but the weather in December is so iffy, and there are so many other things to do, that I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor.

Just my opinion, of course! :)

I was in the same position this year - deciding between the Swan and the Boardwalk Inn. Have not stayed at either, however, we have stayed at the BC. I had to decide between a Jr. Suite at Swan for $202 a night and a waterview room at the BWI for $305. That was savings of over $400 (for four nights). I agonized over this and went with the BWI. I just like the idea of being right on the Boardwalk. It's such a neat area and I'm sure we will love it. However, I can't think about that $400 too much, or I might regret my decision.

We are leaving Wednesday - can't wait!

We've been to WDW for the past 4 NYE and have not been swimming once! We enjoyed our stay at the YC, but were so disappointed that it was too cold for us to use the pool. The Swan is a beautiful hotel (the beds are amazing), with the same great location as BC. The Swan is a terrific value!

I think for 500 bucks, I'd have to go with the Swan, much as I love the BC. The Swan is also a very nice hotel, and remember you can get to the BC very quickly either by walking or boat if you want to eat there or do some shopping!

I have stayed at the Swan and the Yacht Club.(not Beach, but close!) I have loved every disney hotel at which I have stayed, but prices are so high over the holiday, that they have priced me out! (I got spoiled by deluxes, although the mods are very nice) So last Christmas I went with the Swan because of the teacher rate. It is so nice and the value is unbeatable. The location is great, the pool is great, the staff is great.....there is just no reason that $500 would make me stay at a disney resort. If money is no object I would make the rounds of all the deluxes. I love the Poly but can't justify the cost with the Swan/Dolphin now. What can I say......I am a convert?

$500 are you kidding? The Swan!
;)

Also sign up for the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and you will earn points on your stay good for upgrades, free nights and merchandise. In less than a year of being SPG members we earned enough points for 4 nights for FREE at an Astor Club level room at the St Regis in Laguna Beach next month!

I love the YC/BC, but I have come to the conclusion that it is VERY hard to justify the extra costs for the pool.

For my upcoming stay the YC/BC was over $200 with an AP discount for standard view. Swan was $140. Hmm... $60 a night. You know if I want a fancy pool I can go to Typhoon Lagoon and still come out ahead by about $30. EVERY DAY!

The rooms at Swan/Dolphin are just as nice as YC/BC so for know I am staying at them.

I have stayed at both the swan and the beach club and would definately go with the beach club. The swan just doesn't feel "disney" to me and I LOVE SAB, also the beach club just feels more relaxed and its closer to epcot, well that my .02::earsboy:
