A couple of weeks ago someone reported that BC had scaffolding all over it... any updates?

Anyone recently returned from the EPCOT area or eating a B&C who noticed scaffolding??

Thanx

all I can tell you is that when we were there ( at BWV) in May they started to put scaffold up buy the quiet pool at BC and that was just the beginning they told me. I don't know how long or to what degree it is at now, maybe someone knows

We were there in July, and I still saw it on there! I don't have any more info.

Okay.. for those who have seen the scaffolding.. is it a total eyesore or is it not too noticable... (is there such a thing as designer scaffolding?) :p

I saw the scaffolding at the end of July. All you could see was solid fencing around the entrance area and higher up it looked like white sheeting. There were signs on the fence that said..."sorry for our appearance but we are refurbishing for the pleasure of our guests" or something in that vernacular. It was not intrusive at all.

When we stayed there in July 12-19th the scaffolding was up aorund the volleyball court the scaffolding had been removed form the quiet pool.

I have a friends returning from the Yacht Club late tonight...I will ask about the scaffolding and report back.

just back from YC - I thought every time we walked by it looked ok. I would not have wanted to be staying there and have to see it though. talked to someone on elevator and it was very noisy they said.

Back from Swan last week; walked by BC a few times and we were very glad we decided on the Swan instead of our original choice of BC - we thought the scaffolding was an eyesore - very un-Disney; there was plastic sheeting falpping in the wind also. And we did hear construction noises as well- probably audible from Stormalong Bay. I know they have to do it sometime - but again it was very un-Disney. If we were there paying $200-$300 a night we would have been very upset.

As an aside - the place was packed. We've stayed there twice in the summer and I never saw it that crowded. Never got in Beaches and Cream; I guess the FTP worked.

We just got back from the YC yesterday and I'm sorry to say there was a lot of scaffolding up on the BC and also the exit from the lobby was all closed off with a big giant board fence up, but you could still use it. It is a major eyesore though.

Maybe you could try switching to the YC because all the work has been completed there and then the only time you'd see the construction is when you walk to Epcot. It wasn't visable from SAB and we never heard ANY noise from it there either. I know I would've been heart broken if we had stayed at the BC because it covers the entire section by the lobby and then some next to it.

Again I wish I could've told you better news. :(

We just returned tonight from the BC and the only time I really noticed the scaffolding was on the boat back from Epcot. We spent 2 days at the pool and a bridge was being replaced in one corner of the pool. There was no noise that I heard from the construction. I believe that some of the areas were being painted outside but no way did it diminish our stay!

I just returned from WDW last night. On the 11th we exited Epcot through the International Gateway and decided to go to the Beach Club. There are fences around some of the BC buildings and lots of scaffolding. I took some video from one of the friendship boats a few days ago. If I can grab a screen capture from it I'll post it for you. Just have to dig through 12 hours of video to find it LOL.

LOL, >>^..^<<,
We will be there in 4 days and I was wondering the same thing. Well anyway we love the location of the BC and as long as the scaffolding is not in my room I am not that concerned. Hey, having the Concierge staff make all of those hard to get PS's for us is worth a bit of scaffolding. :p

Ya think?? LOL

I have this recurring dream of arriving at my beautiful Lagoon View room.... throwing back the curtains to reveal three half dressed constuction workers and sheets of plastic.... well, I guess if they are handsome :p it would be okay.

Ya know... I might be able to turn this scaffolding thing to my advantage.

I originally wanted 5 days at BC and 5 days at AKL.. but with the Fairy Tale package I had to book 7 nights at one so I picked BC.

I am not really thrilled about the scaffolding/construction going on - I am really surprised I had to hear about it on the DIS and that I wasn't advised when I booked or all the times I spoke with the concierge... when I asked her about it she offered to move me to YC except it was sold out.

Now I am thinking if it is bad, or loud, or causing me any pain maybe I will ask to go to AKL early - then I would get what I originally wanted 5 days at each..

What do you think? Thanx
