I'd be asking them why..did you just buy BBWWS tickets or annual passes as well as maybe it's to do with the names putting on them
I've bought I don't know how many concert tickets, museum tickets and only last week a ticket for the Foire de Paris all paid for by Visa and I've never been asked for anything at a later date.
Send a mail via the website if do contact them as opposed to replying directly to the email incase it's a phishing attempt (though I doubt it as they would be asking for all yourcard numbers plus the 3 on the back)
I think it is genuine as I found this in the terms and conditions
5.2 bis-Application for Identity (IDCB):
We may ask you to email or call for more information on the identity of the buyer (identity card) and identity of the holder of the credit card that has been used for payment, depending on the amount of your order and the address of the buyer
plus the contact details on the email all match those on the website and the email clearly states my order number. As you rightly said if it was phishing it wouldn't be asking me to cover up the majority of the card number. I think I will send them what they want but make sure I cover up my passport number aswell just to be safe. It does say that this depends on the amount of the order and I ordered 9 tickets so it was quite a large amount.
