BBQ Rankings

Just finished at Regal Eagle. We like BBQ, and pretty much everything we had was terrible. Really awful, as in we ended up throwing a lot of food out and are now browsing the F&G festival booths.

So, right now I'm going to say Regal Eagle. Polite Pig is a QS dining plan only, it's too expensive otherwise given the other options at Disney Springs. Flametree has to compete with Sa'tuli for my AK hunger and I'm generally not going to eat twice while there. Regal positions itself at Epcot with hardly any good QS options so that would be my pick in the real world. I really wish Regal Eagle was in frontier land in MK because MK QS selection is the worst.

I have a bbq vlog on YouTube and travel all over for BBQ. I'm a firm believer you can find good bbq outside of TX, TN, The Carolina's, etc. I have found a few dishes I like at Disney. Polite Pig has solid brisket and chicken wings especially with the Alabama White Sauce, the Pulled Pork French Fries at Flame Tree are my guilty pleasure and I'm really looking forward to trying Regal Eagle next month! That brisket on Texas Toast looks pretty good.

That would be so annoying. What was ‘awful’? Quality of meat, method of cooking, spices?

The pork had little flavor. I ate it, but didn’t particularly enjoy it. My DH said the ribs were too dry and somewhat gristly. He thought the spice rub was OK, but the quality and cooking was such that he ended up throwing away more than half of the order. Of the two sauces we tried, one was over-vinegary but the other wasn’t too bad. Neither of us liked the flavor of the baked beans and left 3/4 of them. The onion rings were tasteless.

I know that theme park food won’t be the best, but I felt that this meal was a sheer waste of $$. I especially hate throwing away meat (feels especially wasteful).
