BBC Holiday show - Florida set to be a bargin destination this summer

I don't think you can have seen SimonV's very comprehensive reply on this very point in a different thread:

Yes I did see it but there again there are lots of ways to use statistics. We might stay longer than the Americans but we dont necessarily stay longer than the Canadians (often several months at a time) nor the other foreign nationalities. Nor do we necessarily spend twice as much as other nationalities.
In fact a fair % of UK visitors to Florida (maybe 20-25%) are in fact homeowners and their families visiting their own properties. That is a figure unlikely to increase in the short term because some owners are now selling up and moving elsewhere and they are far outweighing the numbers currently purchasing.
Official tourist statistics published a couple of days ago show that visitor numbers are slightly down this year and that includes people flying there.
Perhaps I wasn't imagining it after all.

That seems a lot, where did you get these statstics from Terry?

The Cheek of some people suggesting that people go to Europe rather that Orlando (DEEDEE ) if they can't afford the ticket prices. There are many reasons why people travel to Florida, the beaches, THE SHOPPING, the food, the fantastic often dramatic weather, need i go on.
