This is the place for all of us that follow British shows but are at the mercy of BBC America for our fix.

This includes everything from Top Gear, Gordon Ramsey and Skins to Doctor Who and Torchwood.

I see that no one has posted on this thread for quite a while but maybe we can get it going.
I love so many BBC America shows. My absolute favs are Doctor Who and Torchwood but I also love Demons, Skins, Hex, Being Human, The Graham Norton Show, The Johnathon Ross Show and probably more but that is all I can think of right now.
Lets talk about some great British TV.

Who verse girl as well but I'm getting into Demons and I admit to watching some of the reality shows (mostly the music based shows). Top Gear is a major guilty pleasure.

I am a big Top Gear Fan!!!! I buy the monthly magazine each month.

That being said......I really dont like the BBC America versions of the show as much as original versions they get to see in England.

First off for BBC America the show is cut up for commercials. Over in England the show is one hour long, no commercials.
Secondly the England version contains some really awesome music but because of copyright regulations it is often replaced with generic music for the BBC America versions.

There are ways to download the original versions and watch them on your computer :rolleyes1

I just posted about Will Young, did you see the Bolivia Special?

Yep! I think my all time favorite challenge is the Botswana Special, followed by the US Road trip to the salt flats. Last years Vietnam special was good too.

If you dont want to download them, they are currently on BBC America On Demand Channel.

They actually came through Alabama a couple years ago, did you see that episode? Hilarious.

About the episodes, I watch them on the computer, I just didn't mention it earlier. I see the whole episode without interuption.

I love how they say "Right" all the time. Jeremy says it first thing when he wakes up in the tent in Bolivia and I nearly spit Mountain Dew all over the computer screen.

Top Gear is the best...can't wait for the new season (even though it's actually a season behind I think)

for anyone who has netflix...Series 1 and 2 of Skins have recently been added to watch instantly over there...so DH and I Have been rewatching all of the first 2 series!

we're also huge Doctor Who(old and new series) and Torchwood fans...LOVE graham norton and pretty much take in whatever british television we can via youtube as sometimes it's the only means available...(like Nevermind the Buzzcocks)
Anyone else fans of The IT Crowd and Mighty Boosh as well??? Two of our absolute favorites as far as British TV goes!!!

I forgot about never mind the buzzcocks, I've only watched a few episodes online but it is so funny. I haven't seen the IT crowd but I did have a mild obsession with the Mighty Boosh a little while back. That show is just so funny and off the wall.

That is my favorite channel. Demons, Ashes to Ashes, Murphys Law, Robin Hood, and soo many more. I love British TV! (and British actors:lovestruc)

DS5 and DD8 love how clean is your house.

Its funny we watch it all the time along with BBC Radio 1. The kids listen to it so much they cant tell the acent anymore. My sis came over and there was one show on and they were talking really fast and with heavy accent, she kept asking do you understand what they are saying how can you listen to this? Kids were translating it for her. now the kids know what a crisp is, a boot are, alnog with other terms.

We usually watch BBC America for the new also.

Mighty Boosh is also on Adult Swim if I read the schedue right!

But did anyone else double take with Life on Mars and The Master's actor playing Sam Tyler?

I have to say that I was kinda disappointed in this most recent season of Top Gear (season 14). It was still entertaining and such(wont ruin it for you with spoilers) but much seemed overly scripted. At least it did to me. The best episode of the season was the Bolivia special and the Death Road :scared1:

I like AbFab and absolutely love Ashes to Ashes. I keep wondering if they're ever going to air season 2 of A2A. I heard they're waiting until season 3 wraps in England before showing both of them on BBC America.

We don't watch it now, but because of it I watched a lovely miniseries that I just loved (and hubby finally was able to buy me the DVD). It was called Perfect Strangers in England, but Almost Strangers in the US. Starred Matthew Macfayden and...augh...the guy who became Dumbledore after the original died.

It's a movie that makes me and hubby laugh, thinking about Eddie Izzard's commentary on how you just can't eat popcorn while watching British films, vs shoving popcorn down your throat while watching exciting American films. But still, a lovely movie in our opinion.

yes...it airs Sunday nights at midnight central...gives us a good chance to rewatch all the episodes...
also IFC used to air The IT Crowd on Friday nights for a while, but I'm not sure if they still do...

DH and I just love British stuff...the bands, the TV, the comedians!!

forgot to multiquote before, but this season of Buzzcocks is great(even though Simon Amstell is no longer hosting), but since Bill Bailey is gone as a team captain, Noel Fielding is filling in...it is great as he's always been hilarious(per usual) on there before.

If you have Time Warner Cable, there are 2 Mighty Boosh episodes up on Adult Swim on Demand..

I love BBCA. I really like their documentaries (like the freaky baby doll one and the ladie's group that was looking into legalizing brothels) and I also really like You Are What You Eat.

Sign me up. :thumbsup2 I am all about the supernatural & sci-fi.

Watching Hex, Demons, Being Human, Dr. Who, etc :yay:

I have never watched Top Gear. Might have to tune in. I also don't watch Graham Norton. There are not enough hours in the day. I am sure I would enjoy his show.;)
