I'm taking the easy way out and posting without searching for answers in another post....please forgive me....

We are going to The World in November. This will be our first time there in over 6 years. We are traveling with a pair of 8.75 year old B/G Autistic / ADHD twins (posted this on the Families board too).....

My daughter would REALLY love to experience BBB. She is VERY girly and her two favorite things to do is dress up and play with her stuffed animals. Even though she will be 8.75 years when we go, her maturity is closer to a 6 year old.

How long are visits to BBB typically? And what types of things should we plan to do? Is this something that you do at the beginning of your stay and it lasts all week or wait until near the end? We're making our ADRs early tomorrow, so I would like to know some of this stuff as soon as possible.

TIA!
Ilene

You can do it whenever you want. Some people say the hairstyle lasts for days. Ours didn't.

We usually do it before dinner at the castle.

The makeover itself probably takes around an hour, tops. The changing into clothes and things can make it longer.

There's a photo shoot across the street that takes some time too but you can do that whenever.

From a sensory perspective, can she handle that tight hairdo? If yes, have fun. If no, consider Trellis Salon at Grand Floridian as an alternative. They have a princess make-over that has hair that's not as tight. I believe it's also cheaper.

Thanks! She normally has me tie her hair back (and she has to wear a tight bun for ballet) so this really isn't an issue. Getting her to sit for a hair-cut....that's a bit of an unknown.

They sometimes have extra staff, when we went one did my daughters hair while the other did makeup, nails. Made it faster. No guarantees, but you could ask

We got an appointment for her at 4:10 on Sunday, November 15 (first day of our trip).....I mentioned to them that she is Autistic so it should be on the reservation. She's used to having her hair done....her hair is very long (hangs nearly to her bottom) and very thin so it's always tied up in (at least) a ponytail. And with dance, she has it in a bun as tight as I can get it. She saw the pictures and went GAGA for it!!!!!

I don't have kids, but from what I've observed some parents let the kids keep the hairstyle as long as they want to, and other kids don't last out the day. I'm a dedicated peoplewatcher, and I absolutely LOVE watching little girls rock a BBB style they obviously got the first day of the vacation to the point where they look like little understudies from Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

As long as the kid is happy, pretty much everyone else is happy, too!
