DD will be about a month shy of 4 when we go to Disney in December. She LOOOVES (major understatement) princesses and has just recently gotten into playing hair stylist and putting mommy's hair up into all kinds of crazy hair styles...pretending that she's sending me "off to the ball". So I'm starting to think maybe I should for out the outrageous amount of money to have her go to BBB?

My problem is that my other daughter will only be 2 1/2 when we go and she's not old enough for it yet. And WILL be old enough to know that she's not getting the royal treatment that her sister is getting. Soooo - any suggestions? Should I just wait till another visit when they can BOTH get it done?

Or maybe take them to the barber shop in MK and just get their hair sprayed there? What exactly do they do there for little girls? Maybe that would work for the younger one??

Sorry, I have no advice but I am subscribing because I have the same problem. My youngest will be 3 months shy of her 3rd birthday and I am worried about the same thing.

On our last trip, my mom and I took my DDthen7, but did not take my DDthen3(almost4). There was not problem. Myyounger DD spent the time with my husband and Dad hanging around the resort and just having a relaxing morning. We did bring her back a costume to dress up in and take pictures with the older one when we returned.

I was worried about the same thing last year. DD5 did BBB, but my younger DD was 3 weeks shy of her 3rd b-day, so I couldn't book an appt. for her. The FGiTs were so great the morning we were there. They weren't busy that morning (it was 8 a.m. on a Wed. in Feb.) so they actually offered to "bend" the rules and do DD2's hair. Well, she was pretty tired and grumpy, so she didn't want to sit in the chair. They even offered to paint her nails with DD5's supplies for free and gave her a sprinkling of pixie dust. They were so sweet, and yes, we tipped them well! Even if the FGiTs are too busy to give your younger DD extra attention, you could paint her nails and put on a little makeup from your older DDs kit, and then let her pick out a crown too.

if you have two adults going I would send one to BBB and send the other with the younger daughter to do something fun, maybe let her pick her favorite ride and go do that again and make a big deal that its JUST with mommy or daddy. I wouldnt have the younger one standing around watching the older just incase she ends up feeling left out :0)

Doesn't seem fair to your oldest dd to have to wait until the youngest is old enough. Just like you have to be so tall to do certain rides, you ahve to be so old to do certain things.

Hope your oldest has a great time!:thumbsup2

I would take the older and send your DH to do something special with the younger. Maybe a character breakfast if your appointment is first thing in the morning.

I would take the oldest to BBB and the younger one to the MK barbershop! They do a really cute job with the kids hair and it's very affordable! Get there early, like at rope drop, it is small and fills up FAST!

Perhaps get the youngest a special dress or outfit prior at the Disney store to wear as a surprise when she gets her hair done that day. Take both girls to a Princess themed character meal or show that day:)

Have fun and take lots of pics!

I know how u feel. Last vacation we left dd2 home(<1y). Dd1 did bbb w/no problems. She was 4.5 at time. We leave in <2wks and dd1 is now 6.5 and is doing bbb again but dd2 is 2 mo shy of 3. I was thinking of booking her when I booked dd1 since she is big for her age. I dont remember anyone asking for proof of age last time. But I am afraid of looking silly if they do . She loves dress up. Last time ds did treasure cruise while dd1 was in bbb. I figured dad could do something with both this time around. I could never take dd2 to the shop and explaining that she cant dress up too. she would b uncontrollable. Good Luck!

I will probably get flamed for saying bend the rules but here's what I think.
My dd went to WDW for the first time when she was 3, but if she had gone at 2 1/2, I would have taken her. She looked old enough, and sat still as well as any 3 yo would have. If you think your 2 yo old is grown up enough to appreciate it and behave, then why not? When we have been there, I have seen little girls who look very young and no one asked to see their birth certificates.
