BBB - late appointment "worth it"?

we have a 5:40 today at BBB. I just hope they are not running too far behind since we have a 1900 PF dinner at 7:20pm. I plan to not take down their hair tonight and we have Akershus breakfast in the morning so it will be good I think.

The hair does stay for a while, so you should be able to get a second day out of it, plus we got a make-up kit, so you could do the make-up the next day. We did our BBB at 3:30 in DTD and went to CRT that night.

We just put our girls back in their dresses the next day, did a quick touch up on the hair and make-up and it was fine.

Quite frankly though, the picture of their "first look" was absolutely priceless. I would suggest moving to MK just out of convenience, unless seeing DTD is a priority for you.

Personally, when my daughter was 4 she felt like a princess just from being in a Cinderella dress and I was happy we didn't do BBB, but I'm also not fan of any of the hairstyles they do and don't care for makeup on kids that young. So, my advice would be to skip it, but I recognize that some really look forward to the experience.

It would not be my choice.

However, I have read trip reports where that hairstyle was capable of lasting for another day or two. If you could get her to sleep with it, the. It may work.

My girls had theirs taken down by bedtime, so I don't think my next BBB candidate would be game. She liked her hair free of accessories to sleep.

This is exactly why I hesitated for so long. I wasn't into spending the money, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted her first WDW trip to be EVERYTHING it could be. She'll never have another first visit, and we'll never have the chance to see her there again for 'the first time'.

Meanwhile, I cancelled the DTD appointment for 4pm and rescheduled for 6:35pm on the MK day. We'll see what happens. I think I'll try to get even a 3pm or 2pm appointment if I can. Will keep calling and hope for the best :)

Thanks.

Sandi

Yay! I am so glad you booked it! My DD's first WDW trip happened when right after she turned 11. We'd been to DLR several times but they didn't have BBB at DLR back then. I wanted to book BBB for her first WDW trip but she said "no". She thought she was too old. I didn't book it. Big Mistake...once we got there and she saw all the little girls dressed up she wanted to do it so badly and there were no openings. We went again when she was 13 but by then BBB had a 12 and under age limit. I think your little girl will love it no matter what time of day you do it!

I actually really liked DD having a late appointment for BBB, she was exhausted when she went to bed that night and didn't really move. So her hair lasted a few days. I was able to re-apply make up the next day and it was like she got the look for longer. She was the last appointment of the day, there was 4 god mothers in training doting over her. It was probably one of the best experiences she's had. ( she's done this once before and pirates league twice too)

YAY! Great news (at least I thought it was)...I called again today and lo and behold, there was an appointment open for 11:20am at M,. So excited.

Now the question is do we surprise her or not. Not sure she'd know what we're really talking about. She has no idea what WDW really is all about.
;)

We did BBB for DD before our MNSSHP when her hair was shorter, and instead of the bun we got a hairpiece. She is blonde but picked black hair to be like Snow White, LOL. Instantly transformed! She had SO MUCH FUN, it was truly priceless. She fell asleep instantly after we got back to the resort, so we just wiped her face off. Her hair was fine for our next day.

I would say tell your DD. It will still be a new experience with all of the awe and wonder once she steps through that door. You can ask her ahead of time which princess/queen she might like to be, etc. and get a good idea of what you might want to budget for and:or even get a dress ahead of time.

Have fun. ;)
