BBB eliminated photopass photographers

Cynical DH suggested that perhaps Disney just "floated" the idea of doing away with the photo pass photographers-"Let's threaten too, as a possible cost savings measure but we'll see how people react before we really do it". I still haven't heard where the "official" notice ever came from that they were definitely doing away with the photographers-all I've heard is how CMs on the phone don't know the true policy. So I can't help but wonder if DH was right.

My DD's appointment was last Thursday and I kept looking around for tho PP photographers! I was SO upset to learn that they had gotten rid of them. I was looking forward to having those pictures. What a let down!

So your experience at BBB was that there weren't photo pass photographers? Did anyone ask where they all were? Perhaps they were all on strike that day-yeah, right! I'd love to hear more first hand reports by people who've been. I just know that we took our DGD last year, have the pictures of her transformation, and are so glad we went then.

I was really hesitant to purchase the MM just cause we aren't a big photogenic family. I didn't even know BBB had it(have my 3 daughters scheduled in November) and then after reading the beginning of the thread i was positive we were going to pass it up. Now seeing the new posts I am strongly considering it.

There were none at the Disney Springs location for several days. They were still at the MK location. They were scheduled to end there, but not anymore.

UGH!!! This makes me so sick. Of course I had it scheduled when there were no photographers there :(

I would be sick, too. Disney should, at the very least, do something to compensate the BBB customers who were not able to get the photos of the transformation. A gift card, perhaps. I know that it won't make up for not having those precious moments in your PP but it would still be a nice gesture.

Photopass photographers are not advertised as part of the experience, and even if they were, everything Disney offers is listed as subject to change. It would be a nice gesture, but guests could have taken the same or better shots on their own.

Ugh. That stinks. I loved the pictures taken of DD's makeover in May, they were some of my favorites! :(

This seems like such a bummer.

My DD never wanted to do BBB so we never had the experience. But, you've all got me intrigued about these Big Reveal photos. They sound adorable! Does anybody have a photo they'd be willing to share? I'd love to see what everyone says thy are going to miss so much.
Here were some of my favorites

It was just so great to have them capture so many moments so I wouldn't have to worry about it and she LOVED the attention.

I am so very thankful to all of you ladies who rallied for this cause! One of my twin daughters will be having a magical makeover at DS BBB Nov. 21st and I am praying that they have revised this by then. It also restores some of my faith in Disney that they are listening to their guests! They are obviously smart enough to know that when messing with our daughters' happiness, the Mama Bear and Grandmama Bear Claws will indeed come out, along with sharp teeth! Great job ladies!!!!!!:dogdance::upsidedow

No, but they're sort of an implied part of the entire PhotoPass program.

By that logic, nothing is really guaranteed at Disney beyond the ability to walk through the gate in exchange for your admission fee.

And I don't know about Downtown Disney but the Magic Kingdom location has terrible lighting. I know my way around a camera, but I still always had trouble getting the exposure and white balance right on those shots.

They were already back at DS as of a few days ago.

That's pretty much true about park admission. Rides get scheduled for refurb, rides go down, restaurants open and close on varying schedules. Not sure how long ago your DD aged out, but we did BBB at MK last year, and I didn't notice the lighting being bad. Maybe they improved it?? I'm just glad they are keeping it, but the real BBB photos that are worth it are the photo session photos, and those were still available anyway.

I really think people should write guest relations about this. First no more photos prints at CRT. Now no more photogs at BBB. All while prices keep going up. This is getting ridiculous.
I must have missed the removal of photos at CRT. When did this happen???

I think January of this year? You still pose with Cinderella, but you no longer get the cardboard portfolio and printed shots, just digital download, which you either pay for individually of have included with your memory maker. I think they did the same with the Chef Mickey printed photos.

Hey now, I sent an email too and I am a guy. But I do all the planning and I am in charge of the if/what BBB and photopass packages we buy. We have always purchased photopass/memory macker and we have done BBB for the past 2 trips and the makeover photos of my daughter have always been better than the after shots at castle couture. My duaghter is only 5 so I felt obligated to help the cuase. I havent recieved a response yet but it sounds like all the emails and complaints have helped.
