We will be at Disney in March we have a 4yr old princess:and we want to take her to BBB but are the dresses their any nicer or are they the same as one you get at the Disney store? I want her to have the best time so i was thinking the castle, then 1900 Park Fare. Can sure use some ideas on this Thanks.

They are the same ones as in the store, I think. We brought our own.. they sometimes run out of sizes etc. Bring your own just to be sure. Especially if she has a fav princess that she must be! I've seen a couple kids freak out in there because there wen't any more Ariel dresses and they had to be Snow White instead.

They are very similar to the ones at the Disney Store. If she has a specific princess in mind I would bring it with you. They are also very expensive at WDW. Our only Castle package in 2008 was 245.00 all in:scared1:
We now just do hair and nails and bring the outfit with us. DD also thought that costumes were all very itchy. Not something you want in 100 degree weather.

Especially since your daughter is still young, you can totally get away with bringing your own dress. On our last trip, my DD was 3.5, and I snuck a new princess dress into our luggage and hid it until the day of her appt. When she woke up she saw the dress hanging on the door and got so excited! I also left a note from her "fairy godmother," telling her that the dress was a gift from her and all about her appointment at BBB. She was beside herself.

I saw more than one child who wanted to take her whole $250 getup off before their moms had even finished paying. I can't remember what we paid for the hair, nails and makeup package - but it wasn't even close to that! And I bought her dress on clearance after Halloween so I paid $20. A WAY better deal in my book. That left so much more money to spend on all the other junk . . . :-)

No matter what she'll be thrilled.

DD(6) did the castle package back in 2007(4 in 2007). She was "Belle". I thought the costume was nicer there than at the store at that time. I would agree that she complained of the dress being pinchy/itchy. It was very expensive approx 250.00 but the pics were great and she loved it. In 2 weeks I have her and her lil sis booked for the middle package(coach maybe it is called). I may take her cinderella costume she wore one halloween for my lil one. I m not sure if the 6 yo wants to dress in costume. From what I hear here, most people take the costumes and save the money. BUt I dont think you can get the portrait session with any of the lower packages. (dont hold me to that) I did really love the way the portraits came out! I have to save a little better next time to do 2 dd deluxe package;)

I love it. That idea of THE FAIRY GODMOTHER that is just sweet. There is so much you can do with that just making the note special with lots of pixie dust and sparkle. Thank you guys so much you gave me allot of great ideas, i cant wait to see what other ideas are out there.

I take my own dresses and prewash them. I also have my daughter wear a light cotton undershirt and leggings underneath because she hates to be itchy. Some days she will stay in costume all day and others she is done after a short time. She has the shoes to play in at home but we never wear them at the park. I worry about blisters and safety.

I would also recommend taking hairspray if you think her hair will not stay in. My duaghter has super fine hair and it fell out in about an hour. They had a very light misting spray and I was told that was the strongest they were allowed to use. I would just spray it myself after we got outside if staying power is important.

For just the hairdo we paid about $35. I bought a small crown for about $5 since my daughter is petite and is not comfortable with the larger costume crowns on her head.

We always bring our own dress and have been visiting the BBB for the past 3 years (total of about 7 visits). All disney brand princess dresses are about the same quality, I was able to pick up the Deluxe belle costume for about $20 a few weeks ago so that will be the one we bring on our next trip. As for the hair staying in I have never had a problem with it coming out, the only problem I had was getting it out LOL. They must use 1/2 a bottle of gel on each hair style. My dd also loves going back the following days for a refresher on her pixie dust.
For the crown package (hair, nails and makeup) it is about $54.

I'm going to bring my own dress, now where do i get her the dress? I live about 2 hours from the mall and when i go on line to look the dresses they don't seem to look as nice as i was hoping they would .(help) Thanks
