I am planning another trip to DL for the first week in June (plan to be in the parks on Tue, Wed, and Thur to avoid weekend crowds) and my DD is 3 now and will be 4 in Sept. She is all about disney princesses and I am planning on taking her to the BBB and getting her made up like a princess. My question is what day should I do it? Meaning first day, 2nd day or last day. I was thinking last day so we didnt have to fuss with her princess stuff all the days in the parks but I wanted to get opinions from those who have done this already. I will certainly be making reservations as the date nears but when should I do it in your opinion?

I also want to have a meal at Ariels grotto for the princess character experience. Any preferences to which meal would be best (most characters there, best food)?

Also any other tips you can give me about either to make the most out of the experience would be great. Thank you in advance

My daughter just had the princess treatment at BBB this weekend for her birthday. It was wonderful. She chose the "pop princess" style and loved the entire experience! My husband remarked that it was the best "value" in the park is his opinion. Her appointment lasted around 30 minutes and everyone was so nice! She got many compliments and lots of attention in the park (which she loved!). We thought she looked like a Tiki Room bird with her rainbow hair extensions, but she loves it! So if your daughter belongs to the "more glitter is better" school, go with "pop princess". She had it done on Sunday morning and she still had it in this morning (Tuesday). It survived all the park rides, including 'California Screamin'! I did not have to fuss with the hairstyle at all. They really use alot of product to keep it in place, so I would have it done early in your park visit so she could enjoy it for awhile.

We did BBB one year (yes, I did it with my girls, we went for MY birthday lol). My older DD did the pop princess look and she took it out that day and she's never worn the hairpiece since. My younger DD and I did the "bun" with a tiara style, I can't remember what it's called now, sorry.....anyway, my younger DD left her bun in for 3 days....yes, 3 days, she would have left it in longer but I wouldn't let her. :) I would do it earlier in the trip so she can enjoy it, but if she's big on swimming do it after a "swim" day so she can enjoy both. It lasts forever and we all got compliments all day long, I was the Queen and they were my Princesses, it was fun!

As for AG, our family prefers lunch over breakfast. You get the same number of characters no matter when you go but we feel the lunch food is better and the price is more worth it.

Thanks, I like the lunch idea as well. Im not as big a breakfast food person as a lunch food person. Give me a egg mcMuffin and I am good till lunch.

Not sure what style my DD will pick. I just know she wants to be Cinderella usually. Shes 3 so she changes her mind frequently though. She usually doesnt like her hair up for long but maybe if shes a princess she might let it be longer. I just know pony tails dont last more than a couple hours before shes pulling the hair band out. But sounds like early in the visit is better. That wasnt what I was thinknig at first but may have to change my thoughts on when.

My daughter never leaves a ponytail in longer than an hour and she left her princess bun in for days and got tons of comments on it, even when dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. I'd do it early. My daughter only wanted to wear her Tink outfit the day she got it, it was a bit much for rides really, but I see tons of girls in their princess dresses so some obviously don't care about the trouble. After that she wore a variety of other dresses and street clothes, but the hair was great to have for the rest of the trip.

Keep in mind, you also get to keep the tiara, so if you go earlier in the trip you can use that in her hair more than once, even if she takes the bun down. :)

Last year both my DD 9 and DD 4 got the makeovers at BBB. After the makeovers, we did AG for the princess lunch. I made the appointment at BBB an hour and fifteen minutes before our PS at AG. They absolutely loved it!
My 9 year-old got the princess diva style (the one with big bump and the extensions) and the 4 year-old got the simple bun style. The diva style lasted a couple hours (mind you it started pouring as soon as we were done with lunch) My other daughters bun style lasted for 2 days..through the rain and even a trip to the hotel pool. I would suggest doing it earlier rather than later in the trip, so that she can keep the style for a couple days.
