Torn on keeping our appointment that's early, 9:10 on a non- park day. I think my daughter would enjoy it but can't imagine her not wanting to swim later in the day. She might not want to mess up her hair but I'm not sure. It's a costly activity for a three year but I do think she would love it. Anyone else done this with a 3 year old? Was it worth it or do you wish you would have waited?

I took my twins when they were three, mostly because my DD7 was going. One twin did great, loved the whole thing, kept the hair style in for 2 days although we didn't go swimming those days (too much fun stuff in the parks, we can swim at home!)

The other twin was a disaster. We had the first appointment time, and the fairy godmothers do a little ceremony to open the shop. Despite having her sisters with her, she started crying and clinging to me. She calmed down and wanted her hair done, but only on my lap. So she sat on my lap for the whole thing. Then she cried when they combed the gel in, so they only put a little in. Then after it was done she started pulling on it. She had it all undone and out by that afternoon. So for her it was a waste.

You know your little one better than anyone. Will she sit nicely for a stranger combing her hair? How sensitive is her scalp? How does she do getting her haircut? I could have predicted my daughter wouldn't leave her hair in because she would always pull at ponytails and mess them up, but I was OK with that going into the experience. I was surprised by how upset she was though because she is normally very friendly and she was very much looking forward to this. Fast forward three years later and she's the only one of my three who says she would like to do this again!

I wouldn't do it on a non park day. Half the fun is for them to walk around the parks all dressed up and get extra attention from the CMs, and to visit the princesses all dressed up like one. Also unless you are going in the winter months when it is too cold to swim, wouldn't you be spending a non park day at the pool? Wouldn't you want to get up later if you are having a non park day to rest? I would probably either add another day to the tickets to be in a park after you leave DTD, or try to get the ADR moved to MK on a park day. My DD loved BBB when she was little, even though she has a sensitive head and at home she hated having her hair done or brushed.

My daughter was 3 when we went, we both loved the experience. They really treat them like a little princess and the castle location is beautiful. We just did the cheapest package and brought a dress from home. I would do it though for a park day where she can walk around after or before a princess dinner or something special like that.

My daughters were 9 when they did BBB. Both liked it, but said the hairstyles were uncomfortable. If your daughter handles sitting for about an hour getting hair and makeup done, then it's probably okay. If you think she might get fussy, I would wait. I say this because I witnessed two full on meltdowns at BBB with little girls who looked about 3 or 4. They looked miserable and one ran out of her chair refusing to go back. I know my daughters wouldn't have handled BBB when they were that young. I think Harmony Barber Shop has some sort of pixie dusting or special hairstyling that's less time and $.

my daughter did it at 3 and did great, she loved it, but wanted the style out at the end of the day. I would do it on a park day though, it's worth it for all the great pictures you will get! See if you can change it to MK for a park day. We did it early afternoon and it was still a great experience.

My relatives all suggested that I "fudge" the age of my daughter (she was 2.75 when we went). She is now 3, and I'm really glad we didn't do it, and we won't do it on our next trip when she's nearly 4 either. My daughter has very fine hair that isn't very long. She's never had a haircut. She only lets me even do anything with her hair maybe once a week...she doesn't even want me to brush it.
I would really think about your daughter as InStitches said.
You could also do as Arden suggested, the barbershop, just bring some of your own stuff, etc.
