Bazinga...

Andy is nearly as funny as Dwight to me also! Love that show. Love the humor and the sheer uncomfortable-ness you feel when you watch Michael. Its truly a love or hate show. I love Jim and Pam so I am firmly in the "hasn't jumped the shark" camp ;)

DH and I have two shows we truly watch together - The Office is one and How I Met Your Mother is another. He doesn't think Barney and Robin are going to last - because in his words "then how can Barney be Barney if he's with Robin????"

( I watch a whoooole lot more tv than that - way too much entirely ;) , but those are probably the top 2)

I like BBT, but it's not my all-time favorite.

Glee has that spot for now.

Another vote for How I Met Your Mother. I haven't seen anywhere near as much of it this year as I'd like, though. DH and I didn't find it until last February, so we've been going back through the DVDs of the individual seasons when we can borrow them from his brother.

Haven't manage to see BBT yet - but it looks hillarious...with as big a sci-fi geek as my DH is, I actually understand all the references in the commercials, and I've laughed pretty hard just at them.

You watch too much TV

Some would agree ;)

You can continue to say it. The thing with anything that has jumped the shark is they go on a while after jumping said shark. If they stopped when they jumped the shark it would be called going out on top.

As for the phrase I prefer the replacement...blew up the fridge.

What show "blew up the fridge?" ?

One of my favorite new comedies is The Middle w/Patricia Heaton. I've watched it twice now and both times had "laugh out loud" moments for me.

I do love Patricia Heaton!!

How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory are both hilarious!
"Rock, Paper, Lizard, Scissors, Spock".:rotfl2:
My DH and I also like The Office and Glee. We put our DVR to good use.:thumbsup2

I have now taught myself how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock!

Now I just need to find someone to play with....

The movie Office Space and the show The Office are not related. The movie is one of the funniest things ever. The real Office (with Ricky Gervais) is hilarious. The American version started pretty good but Michael Scott went from a half wit to a completely unbelievable character with the mental acuity of a 3rd grader.

If I didn't think the term jumped the shark has jumped the shark I would say the American Office has jumped the shark.

I tried to watch the American Office - but I just don't think Americans can be as pathetic and yet likeable as David Brent. I think American comedy is often too obvious, I tend to laugh at the subtle things and innuendo.

I love Modern Family! I think, it might just be my new favorite! I still have to make Jason watch it. I loved the Costco episode!

Oh and Glee is wonderful too! I watch too much TV...no wonder I barely have time to post. :happytv:

I don't think we have Glee yet (I'm guessing it's got something to do with cheerleading?) but they have shown the first episode of Modern Family - genius! I love it :rotfl: You can tell it's on a par with Frasier, very well written and good attention to detail.

I was a bit suprised that a few of the crew liked Weeds  I think it's really well done, downtroden humour, painful yet funny. Just didn't think it would appeal to (dare I say it) people older than we are :duck: No one over here seems to have even heard about it so it'll be good to be able to chat with people who have seen it :yay: I also think they haven't run out of steam yet as these shows often do (Prison Break springs to mind).

i love big bang theory. my hubby usually has to hit pause on the dvr to explain the sci-fi nerdy stuff to me.

i also love how they bring in sarah gilbert and laurie metcalf on the show too (all were on roseanne with leonard).

glee is also a favorite of mine! i also don't get the office or 30 rock. i just don't see what is so funny or great about them. i'm glad i'm not the only one!
