I just booked the Bayou pirate adventure for my 9 yr old dd and 12 yr old ds at POR. Does anyone have any experience with this? Ive not seen many reviews and the ones I did see the kids were usually around 7 yrs. I asked my kids if they would want to do it (after I already booked it) and they both said yes, I just want to see if it is really fun for the kids and if they will still have fun being 9 and 12 yrs old. Any reviews or advice about this would be great

We did the one at the Caribbean Resort and my kids loved it! I was worried because of ds having autism, but the staff was wonderful with him and the other children. HTH.

My DS did the pirate adventure at POR in March and loved it. There were a few kids who looked to be about 10-12 years old. There were a lot of kids who were about 6-8 years. My DS was 4 at the time. All of the kids had an awesome time searching for their treasure. The older kids had fun too, when the CM's were finishing up the adventure after they got off the boat, the older kids seemed to kind of the ring leaders of the bunch. I won't give too much away, but will say that any kid would love it unless they don't like pirates or something. :thumbsup2

Here's some pics actually! :goodvibes

We are considering this for my kids- 4 DDs(7) and DS(9). DS is going to choose between this and birthday party with friends. I'm hoping he chooses this.

I understand there are about 10 - 12 kids on the boat and it sounds like a lot of fun. DS9 was very excited when we talked about it. It's a hard decision for him. He LOVES pirates, but has not seen any of the movies. And he thought the lunch sounded really good too. I consider it more of a sugary snack, but the kids will love the treat. It REALLY started to appeal to him when I told him parents weren't allowed to go.

I told him he could do this with his sisters or have the birthday party and he said "I could do the pirates without my sisters."
"But wouldn't you like to have someone you know on the boat with you?"
"Oh, I can make friends."

Glad to see the kids in life jackets, although getting a "man overboard" or "walking the plank" is probably a rarity.

Would also love to hear other's experiences.
